Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread

Some context to Curbelos performance. 5-21 with four turnovers to go with the 11 assists. Opponent was powerhouse Georgia State, NET of 232.

Color me totally unimpressed.

He's at the correct level at a low-major, hope he takes this opportunity he has seriously.

Wow those numbers not good (aside from the assists)

Only out was also being a Jet fan like me, a regret I will always blame Joe Namath for.
Was a Giant fan until 1968 when as 16 year olds, my buddy and i took LIRR to Shea to see NY Jet band because drummer was my teacher. We ran into NFL film crew whom we helped with their equipment on field all game rubbing elbows with Namath and the future champs. Was hooked and doomed forever lol!

Turnovers can be explained. He didn’t wipe the butter off his hands from the popcorn after timeouts

Happened to bet Eastern Michigan Bowling Green game the other day. Noticed a familiar name on Eastern Michigan but only played 7 minutes. 0-3. 1 rebound and 2 assists.

John Mcgriff. Overall stats not much going on for him there.

He had better numbers at Binghamton, averaged 11ppg as soph, then 6.2ppg as junior. Numbers not as good at EMU.

I watched him a lot at Binghamton. They were excited to get him but by his second season his minutes got cut. Not sure why he is worse at Eastern Michigan. They are at a similar level to Binghamton.

Watched pretty much the whole Boise St game just now. Amazing how much O'Mar Stanley has improved since last season. Still has the relentless motor but now knows how to channel it and is so much more skilled. Strong hands and very good finisher around the rim. Always seemed like a good kid and teammate, happy for him

Had a career high 30 points (8-10 FT). Also added 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Great game by him.

Have to send him a Thank You note. Boise was down by 6 at half when I went to bed. Woke up and checked the score and the won by 10. Needed the win.
