Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread

There are more than 9 minutes left in the first half and these teams have already taken 28 3 point shots. The things I do for former St Johns players, lmao. Will continue to watch because of Julian, but I don't like the NBA.
And a bunch of those were taken by the 7’5”phenom who plays on the perimeter as much as he does on the block.

I genuinely think they have to limit the amount of three point attempts in the first three quarters. They’re simply way too talented at this point from there. NBA is a victim to analytics like MLB was to home run/walk/strikeout a few years ago
NHL for years debated making ice surfaces larger. They never did. But they did make rule changes to make the game more visually appealing. NBA courts might be too small for the modern day NBA player/athlete.

I think it the court got bigger it would actually make it easier for these guys.

Panther is 🎯

Just think how the Announcers call the game. “Knicks on a 3 on one, he stops, kicks it back to Brunson for a three….”.

I remember attending a coaching clinic on SJU campus with fellow poster, Zanman, during the Norm Roberts years (keep wisecracks to yourself for the time being).

One of the speakers was LaSalle Academy coach Bill Aberer (who also was Artest’s coach in HS). He said at the time, the worst thing to happen to basketball was the three point shot. Instead of working the ball around to get closer to the basket, the opposite has happened.

He also lamented the lost art of the mid range game which made the game more appealing.
