Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread

Julian Champagnie update. Through 20 games with the Spurs he is averaging 30 mpg, 12 ppg and 5 rebounds - shooting 36% from three and 90% from the line. Seems to be firmly ensconced in the starting lineup. Nice to see his hard work paying off.

May not be a popular post here but Mike Anderson did a very good job with Julian.
No one saw that coming when Anderson signed him.

81 year old John Kresse, famed Looie AC here.

Always thought it very odd that Kresse is Lou's only branch on his coaching tree besides Brian Mahoney. Or am I missing someone?

I think Norm had a bigger tree with Braica, Casey and Chuck Martin somehow all getting D1 head coaching gigs.

Seemed like Mahoney and Rutledge for eternity.

Tom Abatemarco was assistant in the 1978-79 season (he had replaced Mahoney). And he was head coach in some college teams.

More recently he was an assistant with Pitino in Iona.
