Not part of our SJU family but friends of our program and Coach Carnesecca. Paid our respects to two of the greatest coaches in our lifetime this past week.

And while I was in Chapel Hill I took a visit to the Carolina Basketball Museum…while you won’t find a pix of me on our campus, I’m at least in theirs 
I tried to visit with Coach Davis but he was at practice! And 3 players in the front row all became pretty good coaches!

Not only did former SJU trainer Ron Linfonte work with the national team, but former SJU head coach Pete Gillen did too.

Good for Josh. I remember how CMA started him year 1 in OOC and he did so well that everyone here trashed Mullin for not playing Roberts much. Then conference games started and Josh didn't play well. Everyone has a level that is right for him.

Well, someone needs to coach.
Pete Gillen coached against my high school team, when he was the coach at Brooklyn Prep (which closed its doors for good right after Nazareth beat them.)
His columns in the Post were funny during the BET and Big Dance; his tv commentary too. A poor man's Al McGuire.
He never had a losing record when he coached at SJU.
