Kansas St., Sat., Dec. 7, 11:30am, FOX

While I understand the need for disciplining a player for insubordination, not putting Smith in by Pitino in the later part of the Georgia game is head scratching. Oh well, water under the bridge. I just hope Pitino and staff see the value of Smith starting for this team as the team has had much better starts, against legit completion with him on the floor than Wilcher who has more to prove against better competition. And this game, against Doug McDaniiel, Smith seems to be the only one who can match his speed.

I was sitting behind the bench at that Georgia game and I believe he did try to insert him into the game in the second half but immediately sat him back down, apparently not liking his reaction.

For those of you at home, I was worried that the Fox coverage would not include the pregame ceremony. Since sju moved start up to 1130, at least on youtubetv it says coverage begins at that time. Hopefully you will not miss video or ceremony remembering coach.

Back in 2018 I attended David Wright's final game with my kids. When he walked off the field for the last time in the 5th inning, hugging Jose Reyes first, there were thunderous cheers, diminished significantly by those fans too choked up to cheer. (I was one of them). I turned to look at my kids, and my son-in-law had tears rolling down his cheeks.

The wake and mass was very important to me personally. But today really feels like the final goodbye.

So far SJU and the Carnesecca family has done an amazing job with everything. I hope today is everything Coach deserves.

Yes same sentiment and feelings attended the wake

Today does feel like the final goodbye He’s always has been part of St. John’s since I started nearly 45 years ago

A true legend and very special man!

Need to win this one. I think this is going to be a heck of a game. I see it coming down to the last posession. Dug McDaniel will be a headache again today.

Lets get it done boys!!!!!
