Kadary

I know there are five important games still to play, but if SJ is able to win the league outright, award should go to a Johnny.

Coaches vote on this at end of regular season, and it’s likely that RJ and Kadary will both get votes, leaving the award to someone from the 2nd or 3rd place team (or 6th place team if coaches decide to recognize Dixon for his 30 shots per game.)

RJ and Kadary should share the award if SJ finishes in outright first place.

You must have skipped over all the “Kadary never dives for a loose ball” posts (and those were some of the toned down comments).
But just as many ignored in fact a post today claimed that the Kadary thing was “overly exaggerated”.
Again he is hustling now and playing really well. This does not erase the first half of his season which was bizarre.

I'm gonna leave it to Mase to pull the first half/second half numbers but I'd bet they are pretty similar outside of FT%

Pretty notable increase across the board from nov/dec (14 games) vs Jan/feb (12 games)

Pts: 10.8 —> 14.7

Rebs: 5.4 —> 6.2

Asts: 4.3 —> 6

Steals: 1.6 —> 2.6

FG%: 47% —> 52%

TOS: 2.1 —> 2.5

Thanks - that's interesting. To my eye he has deferred less once league play began than he did earlier - but on the other hand the level of competition has been much higher in Jan/Feb so you wouldn't expect to see higher numbers against better comp.

Maybe the obvious answer is the right one, he just took time to get his conditioning right. Though I wonder whether there is a non-disclosed reason for that.

And perhaps it just took time to develop chemistry with a whole new school, new team, new coach and coaching staff.

He was way too deferential early in the year. I think Coach took him aside and said be yourself, and don't defer so much.

I think the main conditioning issue was probably going from seton hall's very slow style of pace to this all out defensive blitz style this team uses

Richmond could have scored 40 tonight and nobody would have blamed him for taking 35 shots.

He’s a special teammate. Enjoy it for the next 4-6 weeks.
Under control, unselfish, and the smartest god damn player on the floor. Directing traffic like a copy in midtown during rush hour tonight. Did whatever the hell he wanted and should have had at least a few more assists when guys blew wide open layups for dimes he delivered.
