Josh Roberts Injury

It seems like he should seriously consider Redshirting next season.

1. He's undersized and needs to bulk up with more muscle. He can't lift a lot of weights this summer.

2. Josh needs to improve his shot. Same problem. His shoulder rehab comes first.

McGriff had his surgery last August. He's got time to work in the weight room and refine his game. I expect a lot from him next season.

Josh can play next season. He has time for healing and rehab. But, I don't expect much improvement over last season. His shot may be even worse.

Should Josh Roberts consider Redshirting next season? Spend the time bulking up and improving his game?

I understand sitting out a season will be a hard decision. I suspect he'll ride the bench if he plays. Coach Anderson has new talent coming in and I doubt Josh will start over any of them.

I think he should save his eligibility and train for 2021.
If we get a transfer 1 yr. big who can be effective, then I think this may not be a bad idea. Of course, it's up to Josh and the staff.
If he redshirts I believe he still takes up a scholarship which hurts because we’re short on bigs to begin with.
We are short on bigs but our best lineup last year was with duke/penny at the 4/5 spots. Now we have this 6’10 monster coming in but if coach mike found something with the duke/penny big lineup, that might be the way we go.
Monster? In what sense?
I saw a highlight where he passed it to himself off the backboard and slammed it down. It was athletic and scary and the dude looked like a monster.
Quite a sample

Duke of Earlington you need to stop calling I. Moore a monster. The only way you can call him a monster is if you can call Olive Oyl a monster.

So now we know that Josh had a torn ligament repaired with surgery. Didn't specify which one however, hoping the rehab is not that severe.

Sophomore Josh Roberts, coming off shoulder surgery to repair a torn ligament, and incoming junior college recruit Isaih Moore now are the only big men on next year’s roster.

How about our starting front court the past 5 games of the year, Zach?

Despite some ups and downs in BE games, the jump from frosh to soph was unexpected. Can't wait to see what this kid has in store for his junior campaign.
Have to like this guy’s effort. Could play on my team anytime & has two years left

You have to love this kid. The same way you have to love Earlington, Williams, Champagnie, Dunn, Caraher , LJ and kids like Rutherford and Mustapha who gave 110% for their team and their coach.
I love Josh’s effort and attitude the same way I love the effort and attitude of those players above who I listed. Just imagine when we have 12-13 players who are all 3 star recruits or better or high ranking juco level players. Just imagine when we have 12-13 athletic players who go through 2 a day practices and all believe in the coach’s system.
Better days are ahead.

I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s the first time in a long time, based on this years team performance as well as the coaching staffs that I am this optimistic.

To judge this kid, all you had to do was watch his reaction when transitioning from defense to offense..full on sprint every time...needs work on finer points but kid has drive and would not be surprised to seem him take another big step

I'm by no means an expert, or even in shape, but I'm a big fan of the workout the ropes give you. Hopefully when he heals his aunt will have him holding some kettlebells while using the ropes.
