That would even you up for the beer you owe me.

I stand by my "Confidence" thread, however - I fully expect that the staff will keep the key pieces and fill in the holes.  In fact I would expect any additions to be upgrades over any departures.

More addition by subtraction.  If it hadn't happened for him year by now it wasn't going to happen.

You all need to stop with "addition by subtraction" posts.  There is no reason whatsoever to dump on kids who chose to come here and gave the program what they had.  It doesn't work out for everyone (at any school) - when a kid did nothing wrong here and chooses to pursue opportunities elsewhere, the thing to do is wish them well and hope that the staff uses the open scholarship wisely.

And I have full confidence that they will do exactly that.  And it evens Paultz up for the beer he owes me if Josh transfers.

Fair enough.  Where'd the post you just made talking about how you expect we'll upgrade from him?  Deleted?

Deleted and then combined with my reply to you so it wouldn't be a double post.  I've been pretty vocal that we need a legitimate 5 man, there are now two openings for the staff to fill those spots more effectively than has been the case to date if in fact Josh joins Moore in the portal.

Disappointed but not shocked. I for one hoped he would return and have his strongest season ever as a senior.
A real good kid and I wish him the very best of luck at his future destination.
Sad to see Josh go.

OK - all i meant by addition by subtraction was hope that it will ultimately result in an upgrade.  Not all that different from what you said.

Who they add to hopefully shore up interior is anyone’s guess, but staff knew Josh was likely entering portal. I expect one more, but we’ll see. In any event we will have solid nucleus, but as many have noted, getting competent big is missing link.

Best of luck to Josh, hoped he would stay with Greg and Marcellus, since they all came in together.

Say what you want, but we only started getting good when his minutes went up and provided some defense and rebounding mid-season.
But you could see this coming in his body language all year long.
Thought he was going to be a real surprise during the first half of his soph. season.
I think he'll do very well at a lower level.

absolutely LFM!
it’s very easy (careless) to be insensitive to other people and spew out unkind words. If all of us, myself included, would get in the habit of pausing and thinking before we speak we’d have a kinder more loving environment to live in. These are young kids and we need all the good talented successful young kids we can get!
all the best Mr. Roberts!!! You have your own talent and life path and will succeed!

Josh didn't seem the same after shoulder surgery. His aunt tweeted about his rehab exercise. Covid did limit team practice last summer. A player coming back from surgery really needs extra practice.

I wish Josh well. Hope he hooks up with a team where he can start.

As RMN said, disappointed but not shocked. Had hoped Josh could provide some valuable minutes off the bench, and some senior continuity and leadership. With another shoe likely to drop, I am concerned about the large turnover at one time. Especially since, as we all know, CMA's  system takes a while for the new kids to learn. Agree we have a solid nucleus, but an upgrade in talent is paramount it we are to take another step forward next year.I don't think we can bank on the Freshman to provide that upgrade right out of the gate.  The sky is not falling by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad bit worried right now.

I'm active on a few different message boards, and this one by far is the most tame, I don't think any recruits are reading this board and coming away so offended they want no part of the program.  I've seen a message board where they would really go in on kids and do personal attacks and seen family members/friends arguing with fans on there.  That's when it's crossing the line.  Simply saying "addition by subtraction" is not causing any harm to anyone, if that's the worst thing Josh ever reads about himself, as a D1 basketball player, I think he'll live.

Good luck to Josh and I hope he finds the the right situation for him where he can be as productive as possible. By all accounts he was a great kid. Unfortunately, I think the Big East was just a level above his ability. I don’t mean that as a slight. Not every kid can play and be productive  at this level. Thanks for your effort Josh , best of luck!

So, I'm guessing this is the current depth chart...

G - Posh / (Transfer) / McGriff
G - (Transfer) / Pinzon
G - Williams / Wusu
F - Champ / Earlington / Traore
F - (Transfer) / Nywie / Stanley

I wish Josh the best.  At times he was able to show a flash of what we needed at the 5.
So now we lost our two tallest players from this roster.  I hope we replace 6’9” and 6’10” players with tall(er) TREES.
