 what the basketball schools should be doing is (i) to seek guidance from a media consultant to determine what their collective value would be as a separate group, (ii) have preliminary talks with Xavier, Gonzaga, Butler, Dayton and others to gauge interest in joining together if the BEast implodes.

My concern is that the ADs at the basketball schools are fat, dumb and happy letting the football schools control events.
 
It may not even be the ADs that run the show with regard to these things. The presidents of the universities are probably making the big decisions, and they aren't necessary proactive (instead of reactive).
