Jared Terrell, SG (RHODE ISLAND VERBAL)

“@Josh_Stirn: Steve Lavin is here at Summer Jam Fest watching Expressions Elite vs Syracuse Select.”

“@Josh_Stirn: Impressed with Jared Terrell. Not forcing anything in the lane. Making the right passes. But still scoring when opportunity arises. #BeElite”

Jared Terrell impressive on the defensive end. Very good anticipation

2014 SG Jared Terrell seems to get better every time I see him. Going to be a great college player.

Per Future 150....

Jared Terrell, 2014 SG, Expressions Elite: Terrell again proved why he is a high major priority. Physically he is already built for the college game and he can shoot it from deep. Terrell has expanded his game to become more of a ball handler and facilitator and so far it looks to have paid off. While the transition to elite combo guard hasn’t been fully made yet, Terrell is tantalizingly close, look for his stock to rise after this live period.

Talked to Jared Terrell of Expressions Elite. Plans to cut his list soon. Wouldn't reveal who may make the cut.

“@ElevateHoops: Five names that college coaches at #LiveInAC have raved about today: Jared Terrell, Dom Uhl, Tyus Battle, Rashan Holloway and Derrick Jones.”

Look for Terrell's stock to rise a bit after the summer.

yep, UCLA just offered.

Oklahoma State just offered, as well....

UCLA and Oklahoma State University has offered 2014 Jared Terrell Expressions Elite (MA) @JaredTerrell32

EDIT: Both schools has also offered Abu.

“@AdamZagoria: 2014 G Jared Terrell tells @SNYtv Kansas, Providence, UConn, Miami, Florida, St. John's and Cincinnati will likely be among his final list.”

That is great news. It's been reported that Abu and him want to have a package deal so if we're in Terrell's final list, we'll likely be in Abu's final list

They wouldn't mind being a package deal, but one of 'em did say something about a chance of them not going to the same college, if it wasn't in their best interest. That wasn't the exact quote, but it was similar.

Nevertheless, it is certainly great news to hear Terrell mention us as being on his final list. Like you stated, more than likely we'll end up on Abu's final list, as well.

You don't have a chance unless you're in it.

Not liking our chances of landing Abu if he and Terrell are a package deal. With the good possibility of having all four our guards -- Harrison, Jordan, Branch & Greene -- returning next year, Terrell might not see the opportunity for PT.

And 3 of those names would be Sr's. Plus we know that Jordan is not shy about his NBA aspirations. He could have the keys to the car for a long time.

Terrell looks like he very likely could be a three at the college level. We really only have Pointer as a typical three-man for 2014. The following year the floodgates open up in terms of PT.

He's listed as 6'3", which typically doesn't lend itself to playing the wing. True, he could grow (then again, he might not), but if he's going to make a commitment at this time, he'd be doing it as a two-guard. (And by the way, I left Felix Balamou off that list of guards on the current roster.)

3rd guard yes.

A 3 at the college level? No way.

“@HoopDreamsmag: Jared Terrell Final 10:
Florida
UConn
Cincinnati
Providence
Miami
OSU
St Johns
UCLA
URI
Xaiver
@JaredTerrell32”

So the schools on both lists are:

Florida
Miami
UConn
Prov
UCLA
St Johns

Good to see we made the cut, although, as noted above, I'd be surprised if Terrell committed to St. John's.

Why?

Florida got a commitment from Brandone Francis who is ranked higher than Terrell.

UConn got a commitment from Daniel Hamilton and is getting Rodney Purvis in '14.

If you think Lavin can't close against those other schools (if he really wants Abu), then that's crazy.
