Jakarr Sampon get deal with 76ers!

@THEDeeJenks: You know who went off tonight? @KarrSampson14 went off tonight. The former #sjubb man with 18 pts on 7-13 fg, 7 rebs, and 4 ast in 28 mins.

Good for JaKarr. But at the same time, about as meaningless a game as you could ask for, no? Still, JaKarr can hold a spot in this league for a while, congrats.

Conversely, what the hell was up with that Knicks/Magic game? Reminds me of the time Looie said of a Miami/St. John's game that ended 12-10 at the half (or 14-12), "we set the game back a hundred years tonight." And will Moe even be part of Orlando moving forward? He has piled up a bunch of DNPs this year (don't know about tonight)

You don't miss anything Paultzman! :)

Doesn't look good at all for him and that is after the coaching change. 3 year guarantee money running out.

Sampson is looking good! Last night he scored 22 points on 8 for 15. Five of the missed shots were from three point land. A good sign he will stay with the Sixers.

Also had 5 rebounds and 6 assists playing some pg.

Many here didn't think he could play the 3 in the NBA.

Jakarr Sampson:
74 games played, 15.3 MPG
5.2 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 42% FG, 24% from 3

For a guy who went undrafted, that's better than expected. To play 74 out of 82 games is incredible.

Whereas Moe played in only 45 games. Shot 40% from the field and 18% from 3.

Moe has gotta be frustrated. They need to trade him.

They should trade him to the 76ers for Sampson. If Sampson improves too much next season it'll hinder their ability to tank again.

haha. So true.

Was glad Sixers lost last night because if they won, JaKarr may have been cut already. They had a chance for that top-ten pick, but the Heat maintained it with the win and Pacers loss(?).

I wouldn't get too carried away with JaKarr's production these last few garbage games, but nonetheless, so happy for him. He may have been a little lucky in regards to his circumstances, but he didn't slouch on the opportunity, and is highly regarded for his work ethic and hustle on the court. He took his chance and did something with it. Best of luck to him and may he continue to carve a niche for himself in this league.

Very glad to have been wrong about him. Still not sure if the Sixers only brought him in to help the tanking, but he ran with it and did enough as an undrafted rookie to warrant sticking around on a roster for a long time.

For somebody who looked like he wouldn't sniff the NBA, he had a pretty good first year. Good for him.

He was being scouted during his freshman year, I sat next to a random guy in a suit with a clipboard taking notes. With a few quick glances it was very clear he was scouting JS. At the time I was surprised but as the season progressed and his sophomore year, I was not. He was not signed to tank.

He started at SG last night against the Knicks. Mediocre game 10 pts, 3-7fg, 4-8ft, 4rbs, 1ast, 3tos. in 24 mins -13 +/-

Jakarr got the start tonight. Congrats to him.

Still shocked that he made the NBA, but I think he's here to stay for the next 14 years, either in Philly or elsewhere. At worst, he's an athletic bench player with a likeable personality.

His quickness is just about as good as you can ask for someone his height. If he can shoot half decently, he can be in the league for a long time.

pretty good line:
13 pts tonight. 5-9 from the field; 3-3 from FT line, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 TOs. His +/- was +1

(Side note: Jahlil Okafor first game: 26 points on 10-16 shooting, 7 rebounds; but 8 TOs)
