it just sucks to go out in a game where we played like shit, it would be one thing if we played a good game and got beat by a better team. If we played Arkansas 100 times we probably win 90+ of them, this was just the damn outlier

I’d be shocked if our offense/shooting isn’t better. Even if defense is a little less.

We’ll see, but to assume we have better results seems a big reach. Of course we can improve and attract very good players, but it is hard to imagine the better overall achievements I noted. Maybe going further in the dance fits your narrative. I give you that possibility if adding right pieces.

Tied record of 31 in both the ‘85 and ‘86 seasons. One of the reasons I so badly wanted to win today to set the record with 32 not to mention making the Sweet 16 extending the season by a week.

Biggest revelation this year is that if the program is well funded, people will fill the garden and St. John’s will be New York City’s team. With that, I think there is a real chance that good things await.

And oh yeah, this season has been a blast!

I actually agree with you. I don’t think we should expect the same results. I also think next year will be less enjoyable because expectations will be higher.

But I do think we will have more talent

In my mind it was always next year that we would be ready for a championship run. This year was shocking, and gravy. Yes it sucks to lose but damn it was one of the best seasons in program history.

Big question is on RJ’s future here.

Great kid but from what I remember from last year is he has a very sensitive camp.

His benching today is bound to be an issue.

When I’ve had sometime to think about it and let it absorb, I’ll love this season again. It was a rebirth for all things SJU and a bunch of good kids/men to support.

But, right now I can’t get over ostensibly losing a home game, fanbase frothing at the mouth to cheer about something and not even getting out of the 1st weekend of the Tournament. To me, this is 2000 all over again, except this team I really didn’t see it happening like it did that year.

Again, great season, and one to remember but I’m just numb right now and I can’t even drink the pain away until later lol.

I fully expect to do better next year. Not necessarily in the wins department, but making a Final Four run.
