In Season Tidbits
So it's Steere's fault that the Putzman was incorrect. What a bunch of losers.
Dear Al
Please consider this a warning , no more no less. This is the second time you have referred to Paultzman in a very derogatory manner ( using Yiddish slang for those who may be unaware ). This time your post is up for all to see as the moderators had hoped you would get the message. Debate using logic not Name calling.
Thank you.

This behaviour will no longer be tolerated.
Thank you.

Let's not forget Mike Maher, JSJ, Monte, and each and every Mod who put up with our fanatical comments.;)
Its funny about Earlington. When I saw him in the beginning of last year, I thought he was not a high major player, he had awful form. He looked like someone you dont want shooting any 3s . Now hes knocking them down w consistency, rebounding and using the glass well. He will be a valuable piece of the puzzle his jr and sr year.
He’s already a valuable piece to the puzzle.

All of our remaining games left in the season are against teams currently ranked in the AP top 25. Hard to imagine the Anderson streak continues, but stranger things have happened.

QUEENS, N.Y. (Feb. 20, 2020) – The St. John’s Athletic Department in collaboration with The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies and The Peter J. Tobin College of Business will host 60 graduate students from Real Madrid Graduate School-Universidad Europa on Tuesday, February 25. The diverse group of students will participate in a range of programming centered around intercollegiate athletics in the United States.

“It is very exciting to partner with Real Madrid Universidad for the second straight year,” said St. John’s Director of Athletics Mike Cragg. “We look forward to providing these aspiring students with a unique and informative experience during their time in New York City by giving them a first-hand look at a Division I athletic program.”

As part of their visit to the University’s Queens campus, Real Madrid Universidad students will be treated to a presentation by Glenn Gerstner, Ed.D., Senior Associate Dean of Faculty in the Collins College of Professional Studies, who will provide an overview on the foundation of intercollegiate sports. Pepper, the world’s first social humanoid robot who is a fixture in St. Augustine Hall, will also engage with the students during the presentation.

”We are extremely happy to host these students,” said Gerstner. “Over the past few years we have hosted students participating in the Executive Master in Sport Governance and the Executive Master for International Players programs, both affiliated with the University of Limoges in France and UEFA, so this visit by students of Real Madrid Universidad continues our tradition of working closely with European educational partners.”

In addition to the presentation by Gerstner, members of the St. John’s Athletics Executive Staff will hold a panel discussion for the Real Madrid graduate students touching on the day-to-day operations for the Red Storm’s 17 NCAA Division I programs. Following the panel, representatives from the Tobin College of Business will interact with the group of students.

The graduate students will then have an opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art technology commons in The Collins College of Professional Studies and will also tour the newly renovated Tobin College of Business.

The visit will wrap up with a complete tour of St. John’s vast campus and its athletic facilities.

St. John’s is one of several stops on the athletic administration and sport management students’ itinerary during their trip to New York City. Real Madrid Universidad graduate students will also be hosted by other prominent sports venues, leagues and teams in the metropolitan area, such as Madison Square Garden, Brooklyn Nets, New York Islanders, Major League Soccer, New York City FC and MetLife Stadium.

Frankly, would not be to upset if LJ decided to leave,mo we could do better with a new recruit who can shoot well, takes good shots instead of trying40 footers and watches his fouls

These posts are ridiculous. LJ had a great year last year and is our best player by far this year. Good luck signing anybody in the next few months who will be half as impactful next year. There is no universe in which LJ coming back is not a net positive for us.

Why the heck are these posts about LJ returning or not returning on this thread anyway? I wish LJ all the best and hope he makes the best decision for himself. Good news is for once I have faith that staff likely has it covered either way.

Yes he did last yr This yr was a diff story. It would be nice if he stayed but If he did not we would survive and it would be up to this exp staff to recruit a replacement and it just may be possible the recruit (just a chance) could be better . I think that is the goal to recruit better players than we already have at least I hope so or we go backwards

I remember being at MSG last year watching LJ having a special night against Villanova, and after that game telling fan in front of me that tonight he put on a show and next year this is his team.
Well fast forward to this year, I have not seen that LJ this year.

This year all I see is chucks and the floater, what happened to him?

Thanks and I concur
Let’s “get real”
We are fortunate to have this staff
Hired a mere 10 months ago
They will bring better times
And WL records
That’s what I see and believe
:)

Per @daves_joint

Former @StJohnsBBall and Kennedy HS guard Willie Shaw will be coaching on the @NikeEYB E15 circuit this summer with the @NikeAzSupreme.

Short term memory ain't what it used to be :( so have to ask-wasn't Steere suspended a few games back and if so has he been reinstated? Not that it makes much difference as he hardly plays at all but would just like to know.

Could be wrong but I have not seen him on the bench. I'm guessing that ship has sailed.
