me thinking about last years team

Here comes the spin. Great to lose out to Grand Canyon, we didn't really want this guy anyway.

A few weeks ago when we were on the NCAA bubble, I posted that I'd be happy if we 1. Made the NIT (or NCAA obviously) and 2. Kept most of our roster for 2021-22.

The bare minimum was apparently too much to ask for from this program. Nothing surprises me anymore.

I don’t know if he would have helped (I think so) but jeez that’s kinda embarrassing.

Maybe the kid just doesn’t want the pressure of big time bb.

Onward.

We don't even know if the staff wanted him.  The only embarrassment is from our fan base's endless stable of wanna be insiders that "hear things" and spread rumors for clicks.  It's not like Arizona St. came in at the zero hour and stole him.  He's going to Grand Canyon.  We need players that are proven commodities at the high and mid major college level.  Our first two adds have hit the mark.

I'm disappointed but---more---I don't get it. Drew killed it at Valpo, got mugged at Vanderbilt and won big his first year at GCU.  Iggy trusts this guy to develop him and make him ready for the NBA...at GCU...in the W.A.C.?
Okay i guess.
Best of luck to him.

I wouldn't expect him to go against God, especially on Good Friday.

May he go in peace.

Can we also stop analyzing these decisions as if it's the kid just looking at the two rosters and coaching staffs and pointing?  There are handlers and all sorts of colorful characters - not to mention bags - that are often involved.

First we lost our whole roster now we’re losing top targets to Grand Canyon..... yikes wd
LOL, did the staff really want him or did the fans want him?  There was reports they contacted and was talking to him, but has there been any evidence they really wanted him and recruited him hard?  I'm sure they have higher priorities than him.  He averaged 1 PPG.  I never saw the excitement people had for him, I thought even if he landed that would be a project.  His own coach at Louisville has said he wasn't ready for college basketball.

They tried apparently, on to the next one. Not an alibi, but recall Panther’s caution on Aidan.

I’m ok with this.  He’s a big athletic body but far from the answer. I too was concerned about this but figured cma would like this kid’s raw material.  I’d prefer a more skilled kid but would have gladly taken Aidan here.

What did Panther say?

NBA???  That would be one of the biggest turnarounds ever, to go from not even making the rotation on a non-tournament team in sophomore year of college to an NBA prospect.  I think it's almost safe to say Iggy's NBA dream is simply a dream right now.  Focusing on making a rotation of a D1 team should be his only goal right now.
