It’s too bad the Schenectady pipeline is dried outI know Pat Riley is 77 and has never coached college ball, but hear me out....

He has definitely called us the team of his youth. And he once ripped an e-mailer a new one for asking if St. John's is the UCLA of mediocrity.Last night Tony Kornheiser who usually has nice things to say about SJU referred to both Geo and SJU as decaying programs.
He tried the high major route and didn’t have same success. I doubt he’d be interested in SJU with what he’s been able to do at Dayton. Maybe gtown thinks of him. What about Anthony Grant at Dayton. He’s averaged 20-10 there over 5 years and had a great team the Covid year with Obi Toppin and never got the chance to play. He’s a very good coach.
Really don't want a guy who did even worse in the SEC than Mike A didWhat about Anthony Grant at Dayton. He’s averaged 20-10 there over 5 years and had a great team the Covid year with Obi Toppin and never got the chance to play. He’s a very good coach.
Some not snarky names that I could see being willing to interview.
John Becker - Vermont Coach
James Jones - Yale Coach (seemed interested last go around)
Wojo - Former Marquette Coach
Kimani Young - UCONN Associate Head Coach
If this doesn't excite you, it doesn't excite me either. But things seem to be going so badly not making any change seems like the worst option. All four of these guys offer the "you never know" factor at least. As I just can't see Cragg being bought out as well as Anderson the Wojo as next coach move feels like it could happen to me.
And although Wojo being hired wouldn't inspire me AT ALL, one does never know. He was kind of a hot property at one time and he is still young. That's all I've got.
It’s depressing enough putting together this list - I can’t think about the next one yet. Just that I’m with you, it should be expected to be needed. And who would be up next when any of the above are fired in 4 years?
Dayton is Grant's alma mater. What about Anthony Grant at Dayton. He’s averaged 20-10 there over 5 years and had a great team the Covid year with Obi Toppin and never got the chance to play. He’s a very good coach.
Wait until they hire him!I just realized.....when someone suggests Wojo for the SJU job, I make the same facial expression (a wincing clench) as I do when I bite into a lemon.
The name "Jay Wright" should not be uttered on this site. As a possibility.
Can we be real?
The man had probably the best job in the conference. He was winning and had elite talent every year. He is a local hero in that area.
He stepped away because he didn't wanna coach anymore. If he came to the conclusion that he did want to coach again... you do realize the 76ers are picking up the phone... the New York Knicks are probably picking up the phone. The Lakers. Kentucky after Cal is done there. Texas.
Think of any INSANELY GOOD job out there. Wright would be at the front of the line. He'd probably push Neptune out and retake his old job before he ever even googled St Johns on his iphone.
Enough
What do you hear? I agree w Jack, why would Jay leave Nova for us?I think Jay is the most realistic option from what I hear.
You can swallow whatever you want I have other ways to handle this shit show. No offense intended to you buckEveryone needs to prepare for CMA to be retained. I don't think he should be, but expecting so will make this off-season a lot easier to swallow.
Should he be let go.... everyone should be prepared for a disappointing hire.... will make the pain more bearable.
This is the guy. What he has done at FAU is incredible. A 19 game winning streak??????Dusty May -currently at Florida Atlantic.
Thats just MainMan he is messing aroundWhat do you hear? I agree w Jack, why would Jay leave Nova for us?
Add Pat Kelsey to that list!
