Having Young and Murray waiting in the wings to take over is a nice fall back option for uconn this late in the year.

Not sure either one of those guys would hold the roster together.

I honestly hope he does not leave but this could be a minor earthquake if he leaves.

The Portal would open for 30 days by rule for all UCONN Players. By now my guess is all of his high school recruits would be enrolled in Summer School probably. Which means they would also qualify as transfers and can enter the Portal (as opposed to this happening in March or April and incoming high school recruits would just ask out of their NLI and get a release to sign with another school).

It would be crazy many top schools are set with their rosters but I can only imagine what kind of chicanery would happen to say land a Alex Karaban or Tristen Newton even if you already have your 13 scholarships doled out and you are an elite program.

Very interesting listen a few days ago, Francesa had Hurley on his podcast. Hurley did mention possible NBA interest as well as our matchups with them. Too bad Francesa doesn’t shut up enough to allow more input from his guests.

In wondering what big time current head coaches they would target that would.

Would think Hurley would include Murray in his deal. He is the architect of their offense, correct? And has turned down major coaching opportunities to stay with Hurley.

Will Hurley’s personality work in the pros, especially with Lebrun?

Was about to post this.

30 minute, 20 second mark. Says he aspires to be in the NBA for the right situation if org wants a tone setter + pursue championships/instill a culture/young players. He did not really answer the question about having to be in the northeast.

The NIL part, he also sounds very frustrated about NIL.

But has he turned down Anthony close to a high major head coaching job? Let alone UConn. I’m sure Hurley would want him with him.

Win and people notice, but can’t see Hurley opting for LA glitz but $ speaks often. Coach K was better served staying at Duke, maybe DH will follow suit. Woj according to twitter post knows Hurley clan well, having written a book about St Anthony’s hoops back in the day. Danny will certainly leverage more $ from UConn if he stays.

If you listen to the interview, he immediately follow up his nba statement with, "But if Uconn keeps proving me everything I need, I am not going anywhere". He is using the nba to keep his employer on their toes. Smart man.

He is about to win his 3rd ncaa championship and be the #3 all time college coach behind wooden and Coach K. He is not going anywhere.

Trilly: So general consensus in talking to people UConn/hurley adjacent this morning is that this is way more serious than the kentucky job ever was. ... No firm yeses or nos when asked if he’s taking it, but it sounds like it’s a real possibility.

I only turn on ESPN's Get Up when there's breaking news (just like CNN, lol). Woj said there's "real traction", and Greenberg said the only three jobs he'd consider are the Celtics, Knicks and Lakers. They've basically shut down the show and are covering this for two hours. Don't think its just a salary ploy.
