Humboldt St

Obekpa looks great, but why does he roll his shorts up like a diaper? He looks awesome in offense and he is boxing out well.

Jordan is completely out of control...looks like a freshman.

Jones looks good on offense but his feet are sooo slow on d and moving for rebounds. He boxes out and bodies well but his hands are awful. He doesn't come away with any 50/50 balls and loses anything that is touched by the opposition.

Dom is out of control and slow to rotate on d.

I just hope Obekpa doesn't go back to his bad habits based on all these blocks. He looks fantastic on offense.

Bad news is that Dom stands on the perimeter the entire time Humboldt State was in the 2-3 zone. The good news was that he actually crashed for rebounds from the perimeter when the shots went up.

Harrison is really good. It doesn't show yet, but damn is he good. He had some slithery unstoppable moves the first half.

Jones is an enigma. He has great footwork and skill on offense, but he has the slowest feet ever going for rebounds and playing D. He loses every contested pass or rebound. He just seems soft.

who's to say what any of this means against Humbolt state but Obekpa drilling FTs is a MAJOR improvement. He put in the work. The only one that looked bad was when he thought about it for a second. This makes him a much more dangerous player for us. He also looks to be consciously selective on the shot blocking which I take as a good sign on the foul trouble.
Amar looks like he is a player. I didn't expect that but saw some good things like that quick pass for the break. And he's got some size so if he gives us 5 solid mpg that is an unexpected bonus.

Know it is an exhibition game, but allowing 45 points to a D2 team at half is not a positive.

One thing is crystal clear from this scrimmage...our best lineup does not include Christian Jones. I think Jones will have to be a spot player to infuse offense...like a DH.

Amar is kind of impressive...might be a decent backup at the five.

Balamou is so much smarter and more skilled than Dom. All the SF minutes have to go to Balamou.

What has Balamou done today that suggests that? I'm not knocking Felix's game but he hasn't touched the ball today other than nice assist to branch.
