I am (finally) watching the last season of Cobra Kai because I heard it ends really well (I had given up on it because it became an unrealistic soap opera) and there’s no reason for me to like this trash but it’s so damn addicting, lol.

Saw The Studio on Apple TV and it was good. There were episodes I didn’t particularly care for and then there were episodes that were hilarious. Thank you Sal Saperstein!

Big "Studio" fan. I thought the one-take episode 2 was brilliant.

Thought the first few seasons of "Cobra Kai" were brilliant, especially the whole premise that makes Johnny the lead and most sympathetic character. I ate up all the nostalgia, but after awhile it just got repetitive and boring. Barely finished season 4 and haven't cracked season 5. I think I may just jump ahead to season 6.

It’s still repetitive but the karate is fun to watch. You unfortunately probably can’t get away with jumping ahead because there are storylines and characters from seasons 4 and 5 who play big parts of 6.

The Oner was genius. Seth Rogan’s character was pretty annoying but from what I’ve read, that type of behavior isn’t uncommon in that industry and The Note, the one with Anthony Mackie and Ron Howard…holy crap that was the hardest i laughed the entire series (until the finale). I hated the episode with Sal vs the girl Matt promotes (can’t remember her name). That episode just fell so flat for me and there’s no way she’d get away with her behavior.

Probably because when the books were written there was no President Asad in Syria!

My wife read the books and said the Syrian character in the books was also less able to speak English well, in the series, he speaks perfectly fine English. Good character.

We're 3 episodes in and the main character is terrific, the kidnap sequences a bit disturbing. Will keep watching, because writing and acting is very good.
 
PSA because I’m sure I’ve given this great reviews in the past but for $48 during their lunch special the lobster roll is NOT worth it at Prime. Used to be a lot better

this was one of the debate topics with my friends a couple years back... that i think my generation (born '86) had Our Golden Age for Comedies... from '03 -2010.... starting with Old School... and then ending around the first Hangover.... just a Murder's Row of Comedies... so many

Whatever movie Farrel /Vaughn / Rielly/ Rogen /Hill / Galafanakis .... were just LOL in the Theaters funny....

I can't remember the last comedy made in the past 10 years i laughed at... wife made me watch Bridesmaids... it was decent.. had some good moments

Oh yup 100%, I thought Role Models kinda got lost in the shuffle during that time period which is why I brought it up.

I’m partial to Dodgeball during that golden era as well. Cause here at Redfans we’re better than you, and we know it!

Just bought what is described as the conclusion of the Department Q series, "Locked In". If you or the wife are interested I can also recommend another Scandanavian series that is haunted by the assassination of Olaf Palm which in their society is comparable to the assassination of JFK.

Laura is the biggest fan of Gary Oldman and his Slow Horses character, thanks for that tip, Jackfro. She says Oldman is her favorite character in at least 30 years.
 
We were way late but started binging The Bear 3 last night. First 4 episodes ehhhhh other than that pasta they were cooking
 
As Kranmars can attest to if you haven’t watched Mobland season 1 yet you gotta watch it because it’s one of the my favorite top 15-20 shows ever. Tom Hardy is the mother of all badasses and the whole casting is awesome. Brosnan Mirren etc. the only one I didn’t care for casting wise was the downtown Abby chick as Hardy’s wife. She should be serving me tea or something

Absolutely! We even joked that it is impossible to fathom that Madonna’s ex, Guy Ritchie, who made an abomination of a “Swept Away” remake could be behind this brilliance.

The authors name is Leif GW Persson He is Sweden's most renowned psychological profiler. His three book series involving the assassination of Prime Mister Olaf Palme starts with Between Summer's Longing and Winter's End and is followed by two other titles. In addition, he has several books based on one of the characters in the trilogy, Det. Everett Backstrom which are also good. Another great Scandanavian author is Jo Nesbo who has written many novels about Harry Hole. One of the best was the "Snowman" and they continued on a high level after that. Hope you and the wife enjoy if tou read any of them. I have read every book by each author over the years and always looked forward to a new book by each .
