Re-watched the uncut version of Animal House over the weekend. Best comedy ever put on film in my opinion, so many great scenes so many great quotes.
To think this film was filmed in about 5 weeks with almost no real budget, it's amazing. Just the shots of John Belushi making the faces only he could make, is worth it.
Too may great lines, but this one is good: "Flounder, let's face it, you didn't throw up in front of Dean Wormer, you threw up ON Dean Wormer".

could go on and on. Actually told our DJ before our wedding. If you feel the need to put on some kind of dumb dance-a-long song on, just play a song from the Animal House soundtrack. Then again we came out to My Name is Jonas by Weezer, our wedding video starts with Cocoon by Bjork and our song is Everlong by the Foo Fighters.

Funniest movie there is (this is in my opinion of course)…
1) Naked Gun
2) Airplane
3) Dumb and Dumber
4) Animal House
5) either Ace Ventura or Slap Shot
Have to mention the Burbs too. That doesn’t get the recognition it deserves and Bruce Dern is friggin hilarious. Everything he does in that movie is hilarious. Early Jim Carrey is hard to beat though. Love Spaceballs, too. The Broken Lizard movies are amazing too, just pure laughs.

If we move into 21st century comedy’s (not that they are better), an under appreciated one that makes me laugh from start to finish..Role Models.

Tropic Thunder is funny, the Tom Cruise cameo is up there as one of the best ever. But I was going more for slapstick kind of stuff. Role Models was hilarious, the kid is great and having The State cast members all over the cast was amazing too.
Wet Hot American Summer is hilarious too. The montage when they go into town and turn into complete drug addicts is the best.

Gotta go back and rewatch it, and Young Frankenstein while you're at it. Mel Brooks was a genius.
Those paypal commercials of his are so annoying. The kid on the plane who tells him "who cares" is right on it.

FYI - Mel Brooks is still alive (98). The Producers (1967) is my all-time fave.
I am a little younger so I grew up in that Apatow/Rogen era of studio comedies. With that said, the funniest comedy of all time (In my opinion) is a film called This is The End.
It one of those movies where it works best if you know the reputations behind all the actors in it, it is just freaking hilarious. No one has ever been funnier in a movie than Danny McBride is in This is The End.
