Homeland And All Things Maher

Double nickels! Your scoring average on the blacktops. Happy birthday! šŸŽ‚
White Chocolate enjoyed sharing the sugar on the hard courts of the mean streets of Glen Cove that way he kept getting court time

And White Chocolate takes his nickname quite seriously. This is whatā€™s left of my birthday cake šŸ˜€

And thanks everyone for the Bday wishes. Much appreciated !!

Loved Logen's posting of Iron Horse by Mean Mary. Speaking of John Gorka couldn't resist posting this one of his classics from the mid 1990s. Prescient.

I was going to wait until the end of Season 2 to talk about Severance.

But the latest episode (2x4) was so damn weird and so damn incredible.

I can't believe the guy known for Night at the Museum movies is able to make a show like this.

Best British spy shows I saw recently 1. by far -- Slow Horses, 2. Black Doves, 3. Treason. Not technically a British spy show, but involves British spies, The Diplomat with Kerri Russell is good.

I'm in the middle of Jackal now, and like it.
Nice call with this Jackal show ! We are only 2 episodes in but like it a lot

Joan Osborne absolutely nailing this classic, recorded live with the Funk Brothers, a fluid group of Detroit studio musicians that played on virtually every Motown hit until the label pulled an Oā€™Malley and moved west in the early 70ā€™s.
Just a perfect live pairing of singer, band and song.

Post this with great sadness as David Johansenā€™s family revealed he is suffering from stage 4 brain cancer. A side of him not in concert with his more generally recognized public NYDs and Buster Poindexter personnas but he very much embraced Americana music also.

Yeah very sad news. Did you watch that Personality Crisis special. He was essentially doing Dolls/Solo stuff as a toned down Buster. With personal vignettes tossed in. Was very good. I must have seen him solo 6-10 times while I was in college. Always a great show. Funky, but chic.

That Johansen video looks like it was shot inside a Catholic church.

I have not seen it but have seen him in his various incarnations probably around the same number as yours. And Funky But Chic is one of my favorite R&at.

I'm looking forward to the new season of Daredevil (Born Again) on Disney+ on March 4th. I just re-watched season 1 and was reminded how good this Marvel edition is. I have a lot of binging to do before then.

I see Hulu is showing a documentary on Sly Stone this month. Will have to give it a watch when I get back from Denver next week.
One of the ā€œstumpingā€ music trivia questions back in the day was who produced the Beau Brummells first two albums. Obviously a giveaway answer, it was Sly under his given name of Sylvester Stewart who was house producer for SF based August Records.

I hope it's good.

But I was really hoping for an adaptation of the mid-80s Daredevil comic series "Born Again" - one of the best storylines Marvel ever produced.

Laugh, laugh I thought Iā€™d die one of my favorite songs from the mid 60s
