I still have your spots saved. One night we will be at our favourite spot Les Papilles. We got a Frenchie in London, so will be skipping that. I have 2 Parisians on my team so they are giving them their favourites as well.

My wife had something with maracuja.[/quote] In Peru when we go to our favorite Pisco Sour place Nathalie loves Maracuya Pisco Sours. I like them but prefer the traditional Pisco Sour. Pisco Sours are generally pretty strong. 2 or 3 of them you will get a very good buzz

Next time you go see what type of Pisco they use. Also if you are at a Chilean restaurant their Pisco Sours suck compared to Peruvian ones

Also if you like unhealthy desserts try their Picarones. Also if they have Alfajores cookies try that. But even in Peru I generally only like 1-10 places their Alfajores. Nathalies friend makes them and I got spoiled because I haven't had any better but we finally found a place downtown where I found a close second.

I'm way late here, but I loved Watchmen. Held off for a long time because people online complained it was slow, made no sense, etc. I should have known not to listen to people on Yahoo comments sections.

Shhh. I'm late too. Only through ep 5 and the skull crush. Did you read the Graphic Novel? I think the series ismuch better for the moderate to heavy fan boy who knows some back story going in than the casual HBO viewer. They're shaking their heads saying "Squids?#?$?%?"

I've read the original, but not any of the recent prequel-ish stuff that Alan Moore criticized. I remember having mixed feelings about the movie after leaving the theater, but for me it's actually gotten better with age.

I actually meant to ask Mike if he knew anything about the source material, because you are right -- it can be confusing if you go into it cold.

You need to hurry up and finish. The last couple episodes are pretty damn good.
 
binged on the recent 4 day free hbo. saw ROME season 1 episodes 4 thru 12 and season 2 episodes 1 thru 3. an expensive production. really enjoy roman era shows with sword fights & roman women.
also saw episodes 1 & 2 of succession. will watch both shows when there is another free hbo situation.

We've booked everything except our Airbnb in Rome; down to our last couple of choices there.

For Florence you have to go to eat at La Giostra. The owner and I guess still chef is a Prince. Best meal I've ever had. I've sent at least 50 friends and clients there over the last 7 or 8 years and worst I've ever heard was it was top 3 meals of their lives. Get the Pear Ravioli if it's a special. I just sent a friend there last month and her dad owned a bunch of restaurants and her and her friends went back a second time they loved it so much

Thanks for that one. We will definitely try it. Had a few recommendations from a former colleague from Italy for Rome eateries, but nothing for Florence. Just looked at their website and menu looks great. Johnnies beating Creighton out there on your birthday would be tops!
 
In Rome, Settimio near the Pantheon for linguini con funghi. Also Giardina di Alba (Sardinian fare) a few blocks from the top of the Spanish steps. Buono appetito.

I was debating finishing the series off but watched this weeks episode and am on board to the conclusion.
