HOLY CROSS, Sat., Nov. 25, 7p, FS-2

Eric- Agreed I am anxious to see RJ Luis, from all reports he is LJ Figuerora only much better, we'll see?.

Dunlap, I am a little worried about --- being at the Michigan game in person. Not too many of the guys looked good in that one. HC might be the perfect chance to play him multiple minutes to get his feet wet, and see how he responds.
I do think RJ has the potential to change this team entirely and I do see some similarities between him and LJ. We have been trying to press full court with Drissa, zuby, Soriano, and ledlum applying pressure… I still believe with a center like Soriano who can rebound with anyone, we can afford to go with Taylor and Luis at the forward spots.

Agree on Dunlap.

My late childhood friend and former SJU long time ticket holder Richie Murphy finished his career at Holy Cross w a missed FT at Alumni Hall ending up w career point total of 999 points. (Ouch) In those days freshmen did not play on varsity. He was an outstanding player at All Hollows HS as well.

About ten years ago, who played for us, for one or
two years and then transferred to Holy Cross ?

Pre-Big East, Holy Cross had a very competitive team and regularly recruited good players from the CHSAA. I know a few of their alum and was told the reason they turned down Big East invitation was because an influential donor, Edward Bennett Williams, wanted them to emphasize football, not basketball. Bad decisions, as we have certainly experienced, have consequences.

Co-owner of Casey's in Westhampton Beach (among many other places) where I believe there was a plaque with that number hanging in tribute.

Other owner was Joe Gordon, another legend of Sly Fox fame.

One year, Matt Brust was a bouncer there until someone ratted him out to Coach C. The job lasted a day I think. Matt and I were part of an undefeated two man wiffle ball team that summer in the house I rented with Dennis Myron (from Dutch Ouderkirk) and Matt visited occasionally. All I had to do was watch Matt pitch and hit while drank a beer in the outfield.

Another Alum , who I think played Basketball at HC was Dr Anthony Fauci .

I always suspected Dr Fauci only because he grew up in Brooklyn but , was a Yankee fan. Heresy !

Back in the day when he grew up, being a Yankee fan in Brooklyn was like being a outcast . Likely as not to get you a punch in the nose . Often.

I think it was for a small CHSAA school in the Flatbush or Bay Ridge section.
I think he captained the team and was a real baller for his size. Today, he'd be a point
guard.

In our day, Yankee fans in Brooklyn were like and oxymoron(civil war, jumbo shrimp)
They were kids who only wanted to root only for a perennial winner
rather than their home team
We made the school yard very uncomfortable for them.

He's a Nationals fan now. He goes whichever way the wind blows.

Sanity in the borough was frowned upon.

Agreed and well you should have . The Diocese of Brooklyn should have Ex communicated Yankee fans in one sweeping act .
