I think beers at UBS arena start at $17 and go up to like $23 something outrageous like that. I remember paying like $45 for a double bourbon at the Kansas game...you're being bent over left and right in that arena.
Why would you pay that much for a double bourbon? Was it poured through Salma Hayek's ass?

Bring your AMEX. 10% off all concessions, including beer
I make sure I have it for Barclays and UBS, Chase for Yankee Stadium and MSG and Citi for Citifield where those cards give you 10% off concessions at those respective venues. That discount includes alcohol at Barclays while it does not at MSG or Yankee Stadium (I don’t recall if it does at UBS or Citi but I will find out today at UBS). Also if the entrance lines are long, they have a exclusive entrance for AMEX card holders at UBS and Barclays.

And there's always St. John USVI, where, while I was on a snorkeling cruise, my St.John's hat blew overboard and the captain turned the boat around and fished it out of the water because he thought it was an island souvenir. 😜
GB , great post ! Loved it . I would have enjoyed it more if you said it was a Cruise Ship coming out of Port with the Pilot in Command and your hat flew off .
The Pilot was a SJU Alum, stopped the Cruise Ship and jumped on his little boat and fished your flaming Red Cap out of the mouth of a great White !

The Truth !

Happy New Year to all . Redmen fans !

Spending is so damned subjective. A movie ticket costs almost $20 (remember the movies? Who goes anymore) i refuse to pay $25 for a restaurant appetizer and refrain from $20 mixed drinks, but my kids don't.

To me, and more correctly for me, a ticket to our games is a huge bargain. Every game has been fun, even getting stunned by Pace. Where else can I go, and literally see 100 or more people I know? Or go to the baseball HOF, tap a guy on the shoulder with an SJU cap, meet him again in Charleston, have breakfast in Florida, and is now a friend.

Even more than that, there is a reality when at games or around town, literally anywhere in the world. Find someone wesring sju gear and you will instantly be treated as a friend. That to me, is priceless.
Beast , what a great post ! I like immensely your reference to wearing SJU Gear .

But , first a little digression , which I know you will understand .

I was in PT Washington for Christmas and our Granddaughter who is a PA Student in the Health Sciences Dept , First Semester grade placed her 8 th out of 108 fellow students .

But , that’s not the point. She was going to get me tickets to the Hofstra Game today but , at my age , 77 and with my illness , I can’t get around large Arenas any more. I struggle to see our Savannah Bananas baseball and Ghost Pirates Hockey here in SC and they are much smaller Arenas .

So , I’ll be watching today , with Remote controlled switches to the Penn State Bowl game . Grandson is a Senior there .

As for the SJU gear , I have many but , I never get any that say , Red Storm . As a 1968 graduate , I never accept the reality of St John ‘s being anything but , the Redmen .

One downside of moving games from CA to UBS is the loss of the high schooler and college fan Going to CA was a few bucks and a reasonable ticket price
Seeing that same game at UBS could cost twenty bucks more for round trip transportation, either LIRR or Uber and I will guess admission is probably twenty bucks higher at UBS.
Young fans just can’t afford it and the current areas just don’t care about attracting them.
GC , answer to high Transportation costs are Shuttle buses from Campus . Shirt trip and proven to be effective from all
