Realize that Rick thinks Carnesecca is too small time for our brand, but we didn’t draw flies to Barclay’s, and having this and the DePaul game at UBS is not a true home court advantage. Teams like Providence get a pronounced home court edge, while we play in what are almost neutral sites.

Let’s face it, even the Garden is not a true home court for us. Maybe it can be if we can win big and get NYC excited about us, but it’s not a home court advantage for us now.

Having so many home courts makes it tough when you’re trying to claw your way into the NCAA’s.

what's the story on parking???? Thanks in advance
I guess depending on where you are coming from I personally find Emerald the best which is right off the Cross Island but now I can go from Huntington to UBS on the LIRR directly for less than $13 #nobrainerforme

our rematch w UCONN at MSG is essentially a neutral court. The Hofstra game should be at Carneseca,.

True, and I heard that there may have been a few regrets scheduling games at UBS this year. I would think next year will have less, if any.

To be clear, any regrets regarding UBS has nothing to do with the arena beyond our overall poor ticket sales. CRP has publicly stated he wanted us on broadway, in big arenas, and miscalculated the response from fans.

Despite ticket sellouts, even CA hasn't been jammed with fans. In the old days, fans would jam into the bleachers, spilling onto the steps and in violation of fire code. You couldn't have an in game conversation because the building would quake from the noise. This year seems to be a number of empty seats even vs. Xavier, which sold out

I believe UBS is a viable option, but not till demand for tix warrants it. For now, for many, a couch, nearby refrigerator, and your own bathroom is more attractive than in game attendance. Hopefully fans respond in a way that ubs and garden games make sense.

It seems logical that if Rick gets SJ to “very successful” level they will draw more and have enough ticket revenue to support reasonable number of MSG games. I believe Rick realizes we’ll have to use CA for some BE games and will come to embrace that when filled it is a very hostile environment unlike UBS & BA.

Occasional games at UBS seems ok w so many LI fans, while BA in Brooklyn seems meh. Year one of Pitino era is going fine, but to maximize MSG games is contingent on an outstanding product and my bet that “could” occur in year three. We’ll see. Rick exploded out of the gate when hired and set laudable, high end goals. That generated a ton of interest, but it all depends on being able to build a consistently successful program. Despite a limited shelf life, I would not bet against him.
