It's happening now and respectfully saying this some are just hopping on the bandwagon. Let's be fair now and I'm not talking about the play currently. The current play is total fair game as a team and been crap but Let's talk recruiting specifically. To be even more specific let's not talk about when Rick first got hired and I'm saying this as one of the several who were insanely pissed off in the beginning. My anger went up till the day of the Novita party. We got Slaz that day and I was beyond pessimistic I just didn't post my opinion a lot but people who know me here know. But that's not the point I'm definitely not claiming I was right I'm saying I was wrong from the point we got Glenn Taylor starting that day I can readily admit I changed and got happy quick. Dingle Brady Wilcher Luis etc it was like Marillac after 10 beers then going to the San Genarro festival and eating his weight in meatball hero's. And let's throw in Joel. #1 what posters here didn't want Soriano back ? Again show me your posts. And let's start from the point Taylor signed because like I said again several of us were pissed. My point being from the Taylor point we all were happy.

And I'm not knocking the kids in hindsight I would have done the same exact thing and I want the ones that can come back to come back and wish our others well after this year


If those that were unhappy with Sori coming back or any player signed from the point we got Taylor I'd love to see the posts

The point of this isn't actually to show anyone up. What I'm saying is I was happy with every single recruit from Taylor on and I readily admit it. But stop piling on the kids like they shouldn't have been recruited when most likely you loved their signings

Very good post. You are correct from that point forward it was boom boom boom boom. And to back you up from novita that day You definitely were like we just signed who? Slaz?? Ugh.

I repeatedly said I didn’t agree with the blowing up the roster and didn’t think you could win in the BE with a mid major roster.
 
I repeatedly said we should hire Bob Jones from Norfolk to get a good young local guy for the long term. His team currently in first place in his conference and will head to NCAA tournament. I repeatedly said we should not have overhauled the roster.

You definitely didn't agree with the blowing up of the roster I'll give you that

But you also after all was said and done thought we were an NCAA team minimum and sweet 16 ceiling after we were pretty much done with recruiting ( Pre Ledlum coming ). And nothing wrong with that prediction btw as long as you admit you got positive on the team also like us

I did think based solely on Rick Pitino being Rick Pitino. And if noticed I have not once bashed Rick once the season started.
Pitino is great but put himself in an impossible situation. My one issue is over-reliance on a good but flawed player.

Come on not just solely on Rick. I think this post from you in June was very fair but you got caught up in everything like the rest of us

Larry, he’s relying on two good but flawed players in Jenkins and Luis because they are the only two guys he has who can go and create their own shot whenever they need to.

I'm proud of you Larry, you made it longer than I did. I could only hold out until he started bashing the players in the press instead of taking any accountability.

Wrong on Dingle but I do think some of his struggles as well as Soriano slump is on Rick.
Honestly the whole roster has underperformed except his adopted son.

Lots of posts lately killing the kids they aren't big east players I saw some Soriano shouldn't have come back or he's not good posts.

The point it simple. Starting middle of our recruit landing almost every poster here pretty much got insanely happy. Virtually all of us now some are having short term memories

But back to my point, the reason everyone was sold on it was Pitino! If Danny Dingleberry was the coach and brought in a bunch of mid major kids, no one would have been happy.

That's fine you might be right on some of that . But you just said in this thread

But on June 12 listed reasons about the kids on the team aside from just Rick why conservatively our floor was NCAA Berth and Ceiling Sweet 16
 
I think performance is fair game. Despite fervor and optimism, disappointment is natural on a fan site when what appeared to be doest pan out. Optimism and hope are not mutually exclusive of disappointment and critical analysis of actual results. .

Because Pitino was the coach.
If Speedy Claxton came in with same roster not so much.
As I said in the post you referenced my 2 givens were the coach and Soriano.
