Heron Out for Season

It is amazing that adults on this site freely attribute motives to 18 to 22 year olds that they have never met.

JM & J, can't we just wish the kid well thank him for choosing the Johnnies and representing the school so well and move on. How many times did Coach reference the injury when asked about Mustapha's struggles? It's clearly been an issue since the Brown game.

Transparency?
. AD’s don’t often comment on team members etc.
I get the "Hippa," "wasn't asked" and "doesn't comment" comments, but as the GM (OK...AD) of the team and program, with this season-impacting news a mere half-hour away, I'd say he had some responsibility to mention it. Could understand not commenting if he hadn't had the twitter conversation. I like the guy, very professional, and taking the program(s) in the right direction. But still...many of us were just on with him.
It doesn’t seem you actually understand what HIPAA is
Does anybody?
Having worked in Health Care fo 30 years, I do. A patient's medical records are private. They are not to be shared with anyone until that patient signs a "Consent for Release of Information Form". Very simple and straight forward, Mike Cragg needed permission from Heron to talk about this.

I really don't understand why anyone has a problem with this.
Unusual then how the school "announced" it just a half-hour after Cragg was on in a public forum. Take time to read prior posts and the NYPost article. (Yes, beating a dead horse.)

Announcements like that are almost assuredly vetted by the schools legal staff to avoid disclosing private information about a student. Its very likely that Cragg knew about it but wasn't cleared to discuss it until the formal announcement.

It's really not complicated. The school is not going to expose itself to a lawsuit just to satisfy a few fans obsession with immediate gratification when it comes to the dissemination of medical information about a student-athlete. Your horse is dead. Let's bury it and move on. You're not getting that type of information in real time no matter how much you whine about it.

True but that was then it is now he has under preformed and based on his stats now someone could pick up the slack injuries are part of the game it can make a very good player below average, but let’s not be fooled college basketball is a business not for the weak at heart anymore
I feel bad for nay player that has to deal with injuries wish him the best but the teams has to move on quickly

This season is over so Heron's injury doesnt mean much. He was supposed to be a big time player for us and he just never was. It is what it is.

So, about half of posters acknowledge this is unfortunate for Heron, thank him, and wish him well for the future.

Amazingly, the other half (roughly) are upset that the AD didn't announce it sooner and are insinuating that he may be faking it !?!

I dont get what this silly question means? What does earlington or his maid have to do with heron’s injury?

If I recall Heron sustained some sort of injury while playing for the US during the Pan Am games . I think it was a knee ? Anyway , the Ankle injury occurred in December and he missed 3 games . It almost beyond belief that anyone would remotely doubt the seriousness of this injury and infer it’s a false narrative . And , those who have criticized Heron’s performance might think about averaging 13 plus points per game on basically one good leg . More astute and knowledgeable BB experts have long considered Heron to be a highly skilled player and his 2nd team Pre Season BE selection was a nod from the Coaches who have seen him play for over a year ., Any fall off in his Play would certainly be understandable given the Ankle injury . When Healthy , Heron would likely be in the starting line up of nearly every BE team , bar none .

You're using the term adult quite loosely.

I saw the game in the Pan American games that Heron hurt his ankle . i think his troubles can be traced back to this event .
