Then again, look at Sprewell...you can be a headcase but still get the job done as long as you keep scoring. Appropriate behavior or not, take D'Lo off this team and we are possibly the worst Big East team and have zero offense.

Think comparing D'Lo with a coach-choking, dog-killing Latrell Sprewell is over the top. But agree that without him, we're not going anywhere. He's passionate but not out of control; and if he were, Lavin wouldn't put up with him.
DLo plays with emotion. You guys are making way too much of it.

I love guys with emotion, but showing up a coach is never ok. I didn't see it, but if it was as dramatic as people here make it, that is not good. I am confident however that D'Lo was simply in the heat of the moment...it was a very stressful game we looked like we might lose to a 1-7 team as we shot 20% for much of the game. Not making excuses for him at all, but I think he apologizes to Lavin. I'd take extreme passion over lazy ho-hum players anyday even if it costs me a technical. I did see a few times it looked like he was open and players missed him. At one point Jakarr was surrounded by 4 Fordham defenders under the hoop and Harrison was WIDE open in the corner ready for a 3 no one within 12 feet of him. Instead of passing it out Jakarr tried to play volleyball. Again though, no excuses for what he did if it was that dramatic, but this is a very heated game. He will be ok.
I just rewound and watched it again and Lavin was laughing/smiling when D'Angelo was yelling at the refs over his shoulder and it looked like he was still bitching about the refs when he pointed at Lavin's chest(not his face or head)
I watched when they came back from commercial again and Lavin was just giving instructions in the huddle to everyone, including D'Angelo and he didn't look stressed at all to me
And where is Spreewell now, it is not all about games, your behavior dictates how your life will end up. D'Angelo behaves in a very self destructive manner. Then again, look at Sprewell...you can be a headcase but still get the job done as long as you keep scoring. I have been watching college basketball for more than 50 years. I have seen fights, I have seen almost everything. However, this is the first time that I have ever seen a player put his hand in his coach's face. This kind of self destructive behavior is unacceptable. I don't care how many points D'Angelo is scoring.I do think you guys are reading too much into it. It's a bunch of men in a testosterone-filled fiercely competitive game. Tensions will run high. Just part of growing pains...you go through the highs and lows together. People seem to only notice when he does negative things in terms of his emotions. What about when he makes a big and-1, and the place goes nuts with him pumping his fist letting out a huge battle cry? I love that. This is a 20 pt scorer guys...you have to give a little leeway. What is he the #2 scorer in the Big East? Certain players can get away with more as long as they put the numbers up. Why else would people take chances on NFL players like TO, Moss, Vick, Pacman Jones, etc.? The real problem will be when D'Lo is going insane and we are losing games with visible negative impact on teammates. I think this demonizing is premature. His pros clearly outweigh his cons, and passion isn't only in negativity it's positive also don't forget.

Thank you This can be an interesting place ! This the first game this year I was unable to get on TV wasn't available on the west coast I was afraid Harrison attempted to mug Lavin base on comments. So again thank you

I'll never forget at the Cuse game last year at the Garden as we were getting blown out, 1 player on our team was still going hard...his name was Harrison. My friend who is a Cuse fan turned to me and said "Damn...who is that guy? He is making tons of 3's and layups?"...be careful what you wish for guys these kinds of players don't grow on trees.
Maybe he is not getting calls from the refs because they don't like his on court demeanor. Not saying it's right but sometimes is human nature not to reward a perceived malcontent.
