Gtown rematch game thread...

Someone tell this tool it's Pointer not Porter. Good to see us hustle but it's 15 minutes too late.
 
Jones misses everything on a foul shot
Pointer misses front end of a one on one
our traditional problems come to fore today...rebounding, foul shots..east/west...poor shooting by "all"
somedays you get the bear, somedays the bear gets you.
 
G'town is as youthful as we are and they are wiping the floor with us.

In some ways, you're right, but Starks and Lubick are juniors. Quite frankly, I think the youth card is bit overplayed. We're just being outhustled on the defensive end, and playing somewhat sloppy on the offensive end.

Their run was set up by simply outhustling us on the defensive end. Second chance points and getting points in the paint.

We cannot beat a zone for our lives. Why is Marco on the team if he cannot play against a team that is zoning us and we can't score? Not like our defense is getting stops anyway might as well put him in. And wow is our defensive rebounding atrocious.

I agree, 80. Although, I would still insert him in since it's the end of the half.
 
This "offense" is terrible.

We have no idea what to do.

Get bailed out on a heaved 3 and proceed to miss 1 out of 3.

Seriously? Exaggerate much? They've played better than us in the first half, but this is over-the-top, if you ask me.

Unfortunately, we can't hit our FTs. Otherwise, this game would like a 6-point game.
 
This is actually a comedy...if I were G'Town I would just foul us every play at this rate. Drawing fouls means squat when you can't make the gimmes. Jakarr takes WAY too long at the line...the more you think about it the more you over or under shoot the ball. It should be a second reflex...3 dribbles, and shoot. None of that waiting around and staring at the hoop for 5 seconds crap. If we could make FT's, this game goes from an 11 point deficit to something like a 5 pt deficit. I really have no clue why we suck so bad at FT's...it's embarrassing. Drives me nuts.
 
I like what Lavin did there at the end of the half, to win this game I think were gonna have to speed up the game. Full court press and strong ball pressure will cause some turnovers and get us some easy buckets. As bad as that was, only down 11
 
wow we are lucky to only be down 11. i dont think gtown can shoot the same percentage from the field in the 2nd half. maybe they can if we dont tighten up our interior D. as much as i hate gtown that would have been funny if that walk=on hit that 3 pointer after turning the ball over then fouling a 3 point shooter with a second left
 
Nice job by Thompson - gets a walk on in with 46 seconds in the first half. Really gotta like that.
