Uh oh. Mullin sitting in the scirers table again

I'm using my ear plugs. Maher is yelling at him
If mullin spent as much time coaching during the game as he does flapping his feet sitting on the scorers table we night not be embarrassed on the floor as bad

Sorrry guys but this will continually piss me off with that lazy ass look sitting on the table

Sorry for final four fans from years ago but that's just how I feel

On the bright side as now everyone in 114 now knows desco comes to games with dress shirts to impress undeath his st johns game day jersey so not only does he talk the talk but he backs it up

You've got to get over this. It's just his way of expressing frustration at the way things are going. Do you honestly think that it's affecting his coaching? What more do you want him to do during the game? Rant and rave, run up and down the sidelines, scream at the players, chew on a towel, stamp his feet, wear a funky sweater? No coach is "coaching" every second of every game. As long as he has the respect and attention of his players he can sit anywhere he wants,

he did it during the red white scrimmage too so I don't know what he was so frustrated about then. Maybe someone hadn't gotten him his perrier

OK I get that. Once again, do you think it's affecting his coaching of the team or losing the respect of his players? It's not a business meeting, it's a college basketball game.
I don't know if it affects his coaching because when he is sitting on the scorers table he usually isn't coaching. It's not like he is sitting on there to get closer to the action and direct the team. He's just sitting usually

As I asked before, is every coach coaching every minute of every game? It's okay for a coach to sit on the bench with his mouth shut and not "coach", right? Are you seriously annoyed at Mullin because of your "issues" with him sitting on the scorers table?

I know I'm frustrated because Chris' stuck with a group of freshmen and underachievers he and his staff had to cobble together at the last minute. I'm frustrated because injuries and eligibility issues have caused even more problems. I'm pissed because Mr. Left Coast decided to take the last two recruiting cycles off and didn't hold the two returning players accountable and started to put us in this mess. I'm frustrated because for the last month we've shown some flashes but couldn't close the deal a couple of times because of the lack of talent/experience,

I'm looking forward to next year and the years after because I believe he'll get the job done and bring in the talent we need to do it.

I'm not frustrated or pissed with Chris because he's sitting on the scorer's table.
I'm annoyed because I see it as a lack of respect for the game and no other coaches do it to the extent he does and the seeming disconnect it shows. If he was doing it to try and gain some sort of coaching advantage I'd have slightly less of a problem with it

And I certainly have other issues with whats happening but I'm just not complaining about them as much because I've written the season off a long time ago and I was giving him a pass for whatever happens. But other stuff bothers me too

I get that it doesn't bother you but I assure you others notice too

I'm with Maher on this one. I have no problem with Mullin learning on the job. That's what we signed up for. I have no problem with the team that he put together so far. I'm quite impressed with the work that he and the staff are putting in to make this a solid team going forward. I have no problem with timeout usage. I have no problem with his wardrobe or his shoes. The only thing that bothers me is sitting on the scorer's table. It just looks bad.

Guess not. If we don't beat DePaul at home then we probably get shutout in the B.E.

Did we ever get shutout in B.E. play?

You went from feeling confident about beating a good Georgetown team that I still think will dance, as a 9 point dog, to thinking we will go winless in Big East. Bipolar much?

If you knew who it was, then you'd understand the reason for neuroticism.

275 days until midnight madness....

Wondering who the new coach will be.

"Last man standing"

that might be Zendon :)

Have you checked out the white socks?
does he wear white ? didn't notice. I know Mullin has some sort of blue strip that he prefers which I'm fine with except that I shouldn't see the whole sock from the leg dangling over the table. lol

Dress shirt under Jersey is a terrible look. Also anyone over 35 should no longer be allowed to wear jersey's

Hey We Are SJU, don't knock it till you've seen it on me! I wear my colors proudly.

By the way, 114 crowd... did you guys notice I won the $50 to Stout last night? So at least something good came out of that blowout. A few more beers for the Descos

On the table-sitting... I can see why it sets off Maher and some others. It's a perception. You're the schools most visible representative, you're regularly on national tv... it wouldn't kill a coach to act as professionally as possible.
I know, I know .. Bob Huggins wears track suits and is drunk. Knight threw chairs and he's a Hall of Famer.
But that doesn't mean there's not a more respectful way to do the job.

I think coach's attire, comments, and body language need to all be considered in context. Lavin wore sweats to a Big East conference photo in which all the other coaches wore suits. That's a bad look. He was gaining a reputation for not attending as many local HS games as he should have been. And then there were rumors that he showed up to Alumni Hall moments before tipoff. All together it gave the impression that he didn't value his job.

Mullin hasnt shown that. For the most part he's acted like a pro.

You won those seats ? We say you sitting all the way down there to our right and figured those might have been your regular seats but yeah we were impressed with where you are sitting.

Oh and by the way another reason to give Deco some good karma is not only does he get his wife to come and sit through these debacles but she's hot too :)

I normally sit in 105. But for big games I sometimes bring extra friends and family. Thats what happened last night. Bought 4 extras in 114 for my brothers and dad, and I came over to join them (plenty of empty seats around them).
But lo and behold we're sitting there and the emcee character comes up and says guys you're going to each win $50 to Stout, the cameraman is going to swing bye in about 15mins. So that was cool. Haha

And thanks ;) I've seen enough of your photos on Facebook to know you did quite well for yourself too!

I see what you're saying, except it shows lack of respect for the game. Chris has been nothing but respectful about SJU, his job, and the team.

I'm sure plenty of people notice, but I assure you they don't care.

So let's just say I'm not going to change your mind and you're not going to change mine. But can you please stop harping on this quite as much? :) ;)

Nah because then I'd have to talk about 20 point blowouts

Personally I don't like it and I would prefer he didn't do it. However , I honestly believe it is his coping mechanism. There is only so far this rag tag injured group can go and I believe coach knows this. As opposed to behaving like FF or other crazies he just walks away and has a seat to calm down. As we improve I truly believe this will stop. JMO.

Forget all the talk about Mullin's behavior. Did anyone watching the game on FS1 last night notice when the camera zeroed in on Sima on the bench? Sitting next to Sima was the chaplain (whose name I do not remember!). Well, the camera caught the chaplain sticking his right pinky into his mouth and then immediately inserting it into his right ear for a little "cleaning out." I thought it was hilarious how quickly the camera cut away from that scene!

I saw it too, I thought I was the only one who noticed.

Sorry, but I've never taken the time to check out Zendon's socks -- neither the color nor the length (hate when low-cuts are worn with a suit). As for Mullin, as long as he gets this program back on track, I'm willing to turn a blind eye to his choice of clothes ... although I wouldn't mind seeing a fashion intervention from Tim Gunn.

He
Why does anyone care if Mullin sits on the table in the game!?

because it looks ridiculous. it's very noticeable when you are there watching and it's just horrible body language and gives off a negative impression especially when you are getting your brains beat in

But to be fair the game was so bad I left a little bit under 10 minutes left so I only had to watch the scorers table lounging for 5+ minutes of regulation
first time in all my years that I left early as well...couldnt take watching the lack of hustle, the bricks and the forced drives any longer

Watching on TV, when the team came out throwing up 3-point brick after brick, I was yelling at the screen, "Drive to the basket!" Then when I saw how ineptly they did driving to the basket (with the exception of Ellison's one cross-over basket), I started yelling, "Take the three, take the three!" I knew it was going to be a long, frustrating season, but ...

Maybe we can get Coach a hoverboard to dissuade him from table sitting?

3. Black dress socks with shorts is a no no
8. NEVER wear short sleeve dress shirts

3. Did that once at the gym like 26 years ago, and two different guys asked me if I was Polish. Except they used a different word. Perhaps one of our Polish posters can confirm for me that black socks with shorts is a thing in their community.

8. 99 percent of guys who wear short-sleeved dress shirts look like Michael Douglas from "Falling Down," so best to avoid those.
