Something is definitely not right with Posh's three point shot. In the video of his 60 point game, that I attached earlier in a post in this thread, he made nine threes, many of which were from really long range. Back then, his release was smooth, he had significant range and his confidence was off the charts. Last night he missed an unguarded three, that was taken from barely outside the three point line and he had several seconds to set himself, yet still missed badly, barely hitting the front iron. He has not made a single three since January 7th (going 0 for 12 during the ten game span since then) and is just 8 for 49 from beyond the arc this season.

The drop off of his three point shooting from High School until now is hard to understand if not explained by some sort of an injury. I have no medical information here, but I have to believe there is a physical element to his struggles with his three point shot.
Maybe Posh can’t make a 3 because he is dealing with better competition in college Vs HS? Let’s be real If this was the glory days of SJU we prolly would have never recruited him or 75 percent of the roster.

Posh doesn’t look like he has the lithe fluidity of body motion he had in that high school video. Maybe the weights have restricted upper body movement to influence his outside shots. He is definitely bigger now than even his first year. To me it looks like he’s just slower all around too.

Hit around 400 in HS
Not so much in college

He was out two games with an ankle sprain, maybe he never fully recovered. But as Maher said, he really doesn't look confident.
I think Posh is totally frustrated with this team and Coaching . Throughout his career he has always been a fierce competitor . I think the ineptitude of this Coach and the turmoil which is going on has worn him down . Also , since he’s not a great shooter , his game is to drive to the basket and try and get fouled . He’s not getting a lot of calls this year , for who knows what reason . Like Ponds before him , when he goes to the hoop he often gets hammered and winds up on the floor . All those falls have to be bruising him and is it a wonder he gets hurt so frequently ? BE Coaches are very sharp , mostly , and know it’s easy to defend Posh because he has no outside game .. Like Simon on Mullin’s team , teams dare Posh to shoot it . From any distance . But , despite that , I believe it’s his frustration that has contributed to his difficulties this season .

I totally understand that the level of difference between the competition in High School and D1 College is very significant. That said, my point was if you watched the video of him in High School you would have seen a guy who could shoot threes confidently and could hit shots from a range well beyond the arc when he was open. Now when he is wide open, he does not come close on his threes even when he is just on the other side of the arc line. This seems like a physical thing to me. I have no evidence here, mind you, of anything specific but it makes sense to me that there is a physical element to his lost shooting touch.
