You wonder if Anderson has ever told Posh; "I don't want you shooting threes"? If not, why? If he has, why hasn't he been pulled after taking them? He doesn't just miss them either, they're not even close! Has to take a couple every game, I know I'm not the only one screaming "Why, just why!" when he does it.

When David Jones puts his head down and stays within himself, doesn't force transition 3's with 27 on the shot clock or tries to do it all himself and play hero ball, he's a real asset. He is an elite rebounder for his size especially on the offensive side of the ball. With some more structure and obviously not so much personal turmoil to have to navigate in his own head and heart I think he can be a cornerstone piece. Happy for him.

Well, last year Nyiwe would take 3’s when the game was in the balance. This year we’ve seen Stanley shoot 3’s, so apparently CMA has given the green light to anyone willing to shoot them.

He is successful 16% of the time. Anderson likes those odds

GT picked up their 6th foul with 10:34 (Spears). Score was 61-52 at the time. Most relish this situation as we should be in the drivers seat especially with only 2 fouls on our side. Alas it is not until the 0:24 mark where GT picks up their 7th foul putting us at the line. That is unfathomable and inexusable not to attack and draw fouls to build our lead on charity bonus shots.

Maybe they did attack, and fouls were not called or
Maybe they did attack, but their attack was 1 on 4 and they turned the ball over or
Maybe they did attack and just missed the shot.

Was even more profound in the Seton Hall loss at Carnesecca Arena. Six plus minutes into the second half, we were in the bonus. Yet unable to convert that into a productive result.

I am not sure what has changed with Posh's three point shooting ability, but it isn't like he hadn't had that skill at some point in his life. Watch the attached video of his 60 point game in High School (link below) where he made three after three and it is hard to figure out why he is not able to come close on open three point attempts now. Although it is a total guess on my part, I suspect he altered his mechanics due to his wrist injury a couple of years back and he has never been able to regain his stroke and his confidence from the three point line.

He isn't an overall awful player but it's hard to play anyone other than a five too many minutes when they are useless from three. And good teams build their rosters accordingly. Therefore, I don't see it as a coincidence that he has now been on two bad teams. I'm not for pushing anyone out the door but if he's playing a lot of minutes at SJU next year I would pencil in another Wednesday BE tournament game for 2024. Of course, that is almost a given anyway.

I think he is a solid offensive rebounder, I don't consider him elite. He misses between three to ten one-foot shots a game and then does have the ability to rebound some of his own misses enough to eventually score. That pads his rebounding totals, and to be fair makes his shooting percentage a little easier to swallow (two shots to score from one foot is still a basket.)

He has games where he is a turnover machine when teams pack it in but that is partly due to horrendous overall roster construction. If he was playing as a four with three deep threats at 1-3 maybe I could come around more on him. For him to have that setup at SJU there would have to be some serious roster turnover.

In other words, he needs to be coached. I think Curbelo would also benefit from more organized structure too.

I absolutely could be misreading it or seeing something that isnt there but Posh doesn't look confident to me and looks hesitant shooting from deep this year

I said a couple of weeks ago that I thought he may be injured.

Something is definitely not right with Posh's three point shot. In the video of his 60 point game, that I attached earlier in a post in this thread, he made nine threes, many of which were from really long range. Back then, his release was smooth, he had significant range and his confidence was off the charts. Last night he missed an unguarded three, that was taken from barely outside the three point line and he had several seconds to set himself, yet still missed badly, barely hitting the front iron. He has not made a single three since January 7th (going 0 for 12 during the ten game span since then) and is just 8 for 49 from beyond the arc this season.

The drop off of his three point shooting from High School until now is hard to understand if not explained by some sort of an injury. I have no medical information here, but I have to believe there is a physical element to his struggles with his three point shot.
