@Georgetown, Tue., Jan. 28 , 6:30p, FS-1

Seems like Sorber is ok from his injury against us, played 35 mins against Nova had 15 and 11. I'm just so enamored with his game as a freshmen. But I think we've got the big to neutralize him, Zuby and co held him to just 5 pts and getting only 4 shot attempts. Cooley said that was too low and he'd address the offense getting him more touches, against Nova he had 14 attempts - so that's something I'm paying attention to. Do they kinda force feed him?

Also the guy I'm most worried about on the team is Peavy he's excellent. had 24 against Nova, 21 against us, he's one of the best players in the conference, we'll have our hands full but I'm sure our staff is devising a plan to throw a lot of looks at him. Other key is Jayden Epps is back healthy it seems after reaggravating the injury against us. He had 15 vs Nova in 31 mins.

Biggest thing we need to be ready for is the Zone, which I assume Cooley will throw at SJU again. How do we handle it on the road?

Go Johnnies lets rest up and get another win

JFC, can we please dispense with the "confident we're going to beat a team equals taking them lightly" BS? Every goddamn time someone says they think we're going to win somebody (or I should say one of the same group of somebody's) has to chime in with "well they beat X team so I wouldn't take them lightly". YEAH, I KNOW, I TOOK THAT INTO ACCOUNT AND I STILL THINK WE'RE GOING TO WIN. THANKS FOR CHECKING IN.

So annoying.

Could you be clearer please? 😇

Clearly Georgetown not a pushover this year. I read no indication of any poster undermining them. In contrast there are some undermining our 17-3, 8-1 start.
I don’t think anyone is undermining the great start/season so far. I believe that there are some who believe, since our shooting has been so suspect, that there is little room for error and as such, no conference team (except the Hall so far) is an easy game especially on the road. Are we deserving of the ranking, absolutely, but this is not a team (with its limited offensive weapons) that is going to blow anyone out. As I stated in an earlier post, it’s a team like we have never seen before.

Also, I was speaking to a friend of mine who is a casual fan and after I was raving about our season he said to me, “ when they beat UConn or Marquette, then I’ll believe you”. Unfortunately that’s the mindset since we have not beaten a ranked team as of yet.

That's crazy. Their fanbase completely abandoned them during the lean years. It's actually mind-boggling our fanbase didn't during a way worse stretch.
Outside of the miserable 2003-2004 season, where we only had one Big East win (against..you guessed it, Georgetown), the last three years is probably worse than any we had.

Last two years of Patrick Ewing, they went 6-25/0-19 and 7-25/2-18. Cooley's last year was 9-23/2-18.

Norm's worst year was 9-18 and 3-13. After that, we hovered around 6-7 BE wins consistently -- which is more than Georgetown's last three years combined and almost doubled. 😭

We beat DePaul by 28, Seton Hall by 28 and K-State by 18. Those are blowouts.

You're looking at this in reverse. No one should be expecting us to consistently shoot 10% from 3pt. We've beat good teams while doing that. We should be expecting to shoot 30%. Our margin of error is huge. lol

Well I can see your point…. Let’s just hope the shooting improves cause if it does, the sky is the limit with this group. 😎👍

Winning 17 of 20 and worrying about “this is not a team that is going to blow anyone out.” Wow.

Can’t worry about a we have not beat a ranked team yet. We’ve only played one game against a ranked team. Double OT against Baylor, a prayer by Roach amongst other factors why we lost.

That's true recently, but they've been exponentially more successful than us this century in the tournament. They made the Final Four in 2007 and had a tournament win as recently as 2015.

They merely adopted the darkness...we were born in it, molded by it. Some of our fans haven't seen the light until Pitino.

They had a huge crowd for the UCONN home game. It was their biggest in 5 years, maybe more. At least that's what I think they said during the telecast.
