Georgetown (MSG), Tues. Jan. 9, 6:30p, FS1/570AM

By the way, Georgetown does not suck. We are going to have difficulty with Govan and their guards aren't bad either. If we don't bring our "A" game, the Hoyas will beat us.

This is the most winnable game remaining on the schedule. Maybe we get an upset along the way but we are the worst team in the big east and I barely care anymore. All my hopes(which were high) were dashed after the Providence loss and they've done nothing to prove me wrong. Sad watching Ponds develop into a high volume low percentage chucker. I thought he was something special.

If we don't bring our A game the Sisters of the poor would beat us the way this team is playing.

Have fun, I'll be doing something else. To disgusted to watch Tuesdsay, plus got things to do now that the temp is getting normal in the 30s. I watch when nothing to do, read here, post every now and then, but really won't be into the rest of the season now that it's over after 4 BE games. Oh well, life goes on.

I watched this kid play almost every game of his high school senior year and he was something special except for not playing defense. He was the best player on the team last year as a freshman and his stats prove it. With all due apologies to those here that think otherwise, this staff has done zero to teach him and reign him in to improve his game. Shamorie is very young and will recover. He is chucking now and Alibegovic takes 30 foot treys because the staff is nothing special.

Item remember earlier in season when Ponds' 3 pt shot % was first noticed as off, it was attributed in part to his 10 lb muscle gain.

What a load that was...

It's called non chalant chucking

He should watch some film of Mussini last season. Despite Federico's many physical limitations and even misses, he took good shots.

Their guards aren't anything that'll keep coaching staffs up at night. Govan and Derrickson are the Hoyas one needs to worry about.

Control any one of those two, and it's a wrap. But, dont expect such from our staff and squad.

Don't give up on the season just yet. Still a chance we can beat the Cleveland Browns 0-16 record by going 0-18 in the BE. :(

I never warmed to Ewing as a knick. He's back where he belongs - as a hated Hoya. Beating his Barkley like butt would take some sting off an 0-4 conference start

we have not contoled an opposing big to date. Looks like another loss.Is it possible after 3yrs we are at the bottom of the confr and on our way to win 0 games in conf.Something drastic has to happen which i can not see things changing But will still watch and cheer for something good to take place on the court.

The best way to control Georgetown's big men, is to pressure the guards. But, I mean really pressure the guards, like 2 guys on the ball in the backcourt for the whole game.

In the BE opener, once Butler started doing that, the Hoya guards were totally rattled, and we know what the final result was.

I think our going winless in conference is highly unlikely. We were competitive against two of the better teams in the league on the road and should have beaten Creighton. This team is far better than Mullin’s first team and even that team managed to win a game in conference. Anything is possible, but without LoVett, I think we still manage to win at least four or five games in the league.

Felt like we did a good job on Delgado, as well as Nebraska bigs. Up until DePaul on Saturday, I thought perimeter D was where we were lacking the most, but on Saturday we lacked all facets of defense. It'll be interesting to see if there are any adjustments for Georgetown. Certainly hope so.

Without even coming close to joining the ranks of completely dumping on Mullin, the biggest part of in game coaching at this level is to make adjustments defensively mostly (but on offense too) when the other team have an advantage or is capitalizing on mismatches or a particular defensive strategy. We made Maric (sp?) look like a top notch Euro, when to me at least, he is way below that.

I'd put a big part of that on the staff, although that type of player can present problems for teams.
