I must admit this has been even worse than I had feared. Well I guess we will always have the Cuse win. To put how bad it has been in perspective, if you were going to pick a team MVP to this point, who could it possibly be?

Any loyal fan or Yakwe considering what has been asked of a 6'7" kid filling in for Sima & constantly contending with guys bigger & stronger, yet hanging in there. Very tough question WASJU.

At worst I think he will be a very good energy guy off the bench. My knock on him is that at 6-6 you would have liked him to have some kind of touch from 15 feet not to mention the free throws. At his size needs to be able to make shots other than dunks.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Xavier game was the tipping point for these guys. After doing everything possible to get a win, and still not getting one, it looks like the guys don't know what to do with themselves to get a win. We may beat Depaul one game, but I think we would have been better off playing them earlier, when the probability of stealing a win was greater.

Still, my great fear about this season, was that a year like this would not sit too well with recruits. That clearly has not happened, so I can't get too upset anymore.

Can appreciate all the frustration this year & hope for next, but I plan to keep things in perspective.

We obviously will have a better group of kids next year, but don't think we will roll over anyone. There will still be growing pains & struggles that all young teams experience. The teams at the top of BE usually have upper class guys playing prime roles.

As WASJU noted yesterday, don't think anyone in BE will fear us.

Lastly, as much as I welcome the new coaching regime & appreciate the recruiting efforts & results, it is not heresy to suggest the jury is out on the coaching proficiency front. If this is a pass year, next season will not be. Even with the young team noted, I would hope the team is competitive, well prepared & steals some wins (especially at home) in CM's second season.

Fifteen or sixteen wins & performing in that fashion seems like a fair expectation leading to further improvement & contending for the Dance perhaps in year three.

If team surpasses my forecast, I will be very happy. If not, at least I won't be disappointed & frustrated.

totally agree

Agree with everything, including at least raising the coaching proficiency concerns. A well balanced team with a few very good to great players will hide coaching deficiencies. We don't have either. While i give the staff a pass, we have to face the fact that we are not even in the hunt anymore. My concern with next season, unless Rawle commits, is the lack of Big East bodies at almost every position. There is not just height in the Big East, but lots of weight and strength. We will be quick in the back court, but the rotation of Lovett, Ponds and Mussini lack physical strength. Same with Yakwe , Sima and Freud up front. We will do well when the threes are falling, but no so much otherwise. Also you can see Mussini hit the wall a few weeks ago. When you are constantly getting banged around by bigger, stronger guys, it wears you out.

I might give him the ball a little bit more. See if he can contribute next year. If miracle did happen and you needed the extra scholie I think people were barking up wrong tree with Jones and should look Amar

I think Bashir, Jones, Yakwe, Amar, Ellison, Sima, and even Lovett for the PG spot can hold their own physically next year.

Yup & at right time perhaps, a transfer who would sit out. These guys do put ample amount of irons in fire. To his credit Matt A plays transfer game well. I don't worry about roster numbers. Good teams figure it out. We'll see.

Has the Keith Thomas transcript issue been rectified yet? I would love a 28 year old PF right now.

Heard he is playing in Mexico btw.

The Fuego Transcriptos probably.

I think Maher was making a joke about CJ being our grad transfer already in tow. But I am sure you are right and staff is looking around for whoever can help us.

248 days until Midnight Madness....
+1
249 days?

that would get a -1 but I can't do karma for 6 hours so you are off the hook. lol
Don't threaten me in that tone of voice! :) As for adding to my negative karma, don't worry, some humorless twits have been taking care of that lately. Guess the team is having a great season and I must be missing something. Maybe I am seeing the scores and record in reverse. On to the NCAAs!
