Just watched the end of the Hall win again, Dom had a good take to the rim, got fouled hit both free throws - then next possession( may have got away with a travel) but found Sampson for a dunk. Also intercepted the final pass .
He definitely traveled on that play. Even the sportscasters commented on it during the highlights. Before he does something very good he almost always travels or badly looses the handle. He gets away with a lot due to his elite athleticism, but SH is a team that tries to make the game ugly and ugly is Dom's game. I will say this about Dom...he has terrific vision. He also did have two very nice drives against SH. I don't mind him taking it once in a while at all if he has the angle. I really don't even mind him shooting the occasional jumper if he's wide open and there is more than 15 mins left in the game. He has a good jump stop and control in the lane. His problem is his third dribble is chest high and his fourth dribble is up to his chin if he doesn't travel or bounce it off his foot first. He is also has an unusually long stride which is probably tough to time. He should be limited to two...at most...three dribbles.
What doesn't jump out at you from the SH game is how many drives did Jordan not have the chance to take, because Dom's man was cheating so far away from him. How many offensive rebounds did we not get because he was in the game? How many times did their guards and forwards leak out because they don't have to worry about a menacing 6'5 ridiculous athlete athlete skying in for rebounds? How many rebounds did Dom's man take from others because he doesn't have to box Dom out? How many plays couldn't be properly executed because of they couldn't space the foorl? How much harder was it for Harrison to get open? Add that to the four fouls, the three turnovers, the goal tending calls on balls that weren't going in, the easy layups given up on defense.
Of course I fully expect Dom to go for 13,8, and 6 now after these posts.
