Game of Coaches

Of course, there's no rush
We may lose LJ and Heron in addition to the others that have left
The St John's job looks less appealing to prospective coaches by the day
But there's no need to have a sense of urgency

There isn't a coach in the country that is going to take or turn down this job based on the roster he inherits. Not one.

The only thing that matters here is hiring the correct coach. That's it. Moving faster to possibly retain a player the coach might not even want is the worst thing we could possibly do.

Zags
Several NYC grassroots coaches have told me they’d like to see @StJohnsBBall consider former Georgia Tech and George Mason coach Paul Hewitt, a Long Island native who got to the NCAA title game in 2004.

Grab two more one year wonders. Throw them all on staff and between the 4 we're bound to get lucky

This is crazier than Artest.

Artest would give us two things: tough D and the greatest press conferences ever. I'm throwing my considerable weight behind MWP!

The title of this thread with the reference to Game of Thrones is very timely. Unfortunately for us instead of four or five kings fighting for the “throne” we have two or three guys running away from us as quickly as possible. I am sure not getting the sense guys fighting for the job.

Steven Marcus-
Legendary former SJ coach Lou Carnesecca, 94, tells Newsday he has no role in the search and is getting his info from newspapers.

Good to hear. It is time for Louie to step back from these types of decisions.

He'd do a better job than Oliva. . .

This is a serious question, is Mark Jackson that bad of an idea?

We have to get realistic about things. This is not a desirable job.

Yes! He has never coached at the college level. Been there done that.
