You beat me to it salty. God, I can't stand him! His arrogance and pompous attitude continues to get worse every year. He's becoming unlistenable. Sad, bc I grew up him and dog. But it's so aggravating to listen/watch him. And he does NOTHING for St. John's. but yet bows down to Calhoun/Boheim.

When we are a top 20 team again and dancing, he will suddenly be a fan again and will be kissing Lav's butt.
He is as fair weather as it gets. Mr. I love Stonybrook basketball didn't even know they were eliminated by Albany in their tourney!
We all know he knows nothing about college hoops.
I still don't get the hatred he displays for STJs, however. He was laughing at Minko a few weeks ago about STJs probably not going to the tourney yet again as if he attended a rival school back in his day. You have to wonder how or why an alum who hosts the biggest radio sports show in the nation loves to take shots at his school's program.
And let's not forget the scholarship fund he promised and never made good on! He's a jerk and a phony. Let him go and drink with Calhoun and wipe his beloved icon's butt with his cocktail napkin.

he was friendly with Parcells
he love the Dog
he sways back and forth
What's going to happen when we make it to the elite 8 or, god forbid and have mercy on WFAN's soul, the Final four?
He'll create some excuse like - it was a down year; SJU had an easy road; college basketball isn't what it used to be inter alia...
(such a unique phrase!!??) among other things - he'll find creative ways to undermine his alma mater.
Here's my take - he started college in Florida playing baseball I believe
the got hurt and reluctantly returned home and to SJU which college he never really wanted - hence no fondness or loyalty

Pull those strings, tow that barge, it hurts him to have a kind word about St. John's, he's that large

Listen I am no Francessa fan, but let's be honest this team cannot throw the ball into the ocean. They are arguably one of the worst shooting teams in college basketball, and it hurts when someone speaks the obvious. Having said that, Francessa is an arrogant s.o.b whose time will come to an end. He has way too many listeners who can't stand his guts!

You know who has a worse field goal percentage than St John's? 86 other teams.
You know who is in that group? Villanova and Cincinnati to make no mention of Providence and South Florida, Penn State and Texas, South Carolina and Vanderbilt, Georgia and Auburn, West Virginia, Nebraska and TCU, Northwestern and Miss. State.
SJU wasn't even one of the 15 worst power conference shooting teams.
I agree mike is arrogant and pompous, but in this case he is totally right. the one thing lavin bought to st johns is friends in basketball because of his T.V time. Their is know doubt St johns didn't earn a spot in the NIT or any postseason tourney. Finishing 16 - 15 and 2-8 in their last ten games seals that fate. ITS A JOKE AND THE NIT MADE A JOKE OF THEIR SELECTION PROCESS.
In the beginning when Francesa started at the FAN with easy Ed Coleman as his co-host (briefly, before Dog), MF was not that down on SJU.
He liked Looie and the Mullin, Berry, Jackson teams through Werdann and Sealy.
After that he abandoned SJU and has only gotten nastier and nastier ever since.
It had an official falling out with administration and takes unnecessary shots at the school. I am just as happy when people don't know he is an alum. Funny thing it would be a natural for him to have a connection with Repole---both Italian Americans, Queens/LI both from working class backgrounds (MF actually from a single working mom home), both own horses and both are successful and highly-rewarded.
But one loves his alma mater, the other acts like a jerk towards it. I don't get him.
