Fordham, Wed. Dec. 2, (TV TBD), 570 AM

The team has no point guard and is poorly coached. A friend of mine , a former D 1 coach ,was out at practice and came back unimpressed with what he saw.

Not many positives in this one...Mussini looked overwhelmed having to be the primary ball handler, Sima looked weak (almost like he was sick) and Durand Johnson continues to be a huge disappointment.

The only thing that was encouraging was Yakwe during that 2nd half. I really think we have a player in that guy. Gotta keep adding talent at that level. This year is all about developing Mussini, Sima and Yakwe. It's going to get really ugly during the Big East schedule. Gotta get experience for those guys and wait for reinforcements in Ponds and LoVett (and hopefully a couple of others) next year.

Better days ahead!

Losing the game is one thing, but losing the way we did by as much as we did is not good under any circumstances.

Mullin said something to their coach during the handshake.
Hopefully we find out tomorrow.

I hope so, I'd be curious to see if he was upset about the run-up of the score as the kid announcing thought.

When 2 of your best players are Jones and Balamou..............................................
Give the staff some time.

Agreed Dick, just really tough right now. In addition to Mussini , Sima and Yakwe, we have to get Ellison and Darien Williams going also. Those five guys will be a huge part of next years team.

Yes Tom. The announcers assumed Chris wasn't happy that the Ram coach didn't substitute at the end. Apparently they mentioned he did the same against Manhatten. Actually, I was also surprised he didn't pull his starters. He'll get his next year.

Honestly Fordham has been a doormat forever. I don't blame them for not pulling starters. It's on us to make the game closer

If you don't like it just play harder and smarter and kick their ass next year

Wow! Nice to know. Guess it's time to change coaches.

Actually it's the time to give your bench warmers a little time to play. At this rate they will never get in a game.

Exactly

You and your boy Chiles should have recruited the past 2 years, Isham, instead of eating at Rao's and pocketing cash. This roster is on our former staff - period. If you can't see that, and don't blame them, you are even less of a "fan" than what all of us already think.

We have only one guard playing on the roster right now in Mussini, and he's playing out of position...and he's a freshman. Our other guards are either hurt or partial qualifiers and both also freshmen.

Durand isn't helping in the backcourt because he's a SF and really should be a 6th man type player. Our frontcourt is made up of freshmen Sima, Yakwe in his first game and 3 reserves in Ali, Jones and Balamou.

This isn't going to be a good season so nobody should be surprised, even with today's result. This Fordham team is experienced and healthy, with enough depth. Mussini is doing his best as our only guard, but he's not a PG, but more of a combo.

People need to take this season's results with a grain of salt. We will have some fun playing spoiler in some games as season wears on, but we will have an anti rely new roster next year with a full backcourt and much more frontcourt depth.

this is fordham we are talking about. Their benchwarmers are probably on the team to raise the grade point average of the rest

And personally I'd be embarrassed if Fordham benchwarmers were coming on against my team. Learn from it and just whip them next year

agreed although it have made more sense if pecora was still coaching because he had an axe to grind.

We'll well well look who crawled out.
We know we don't have a point guard so what is your point ?
And we are poorly coached. You are a real genius. Ellison , Williams and Lovett are all on the bench unable to play. Are you or your friend aware of that ? You have to have players to coach, we just don't at this point in time for a multitude of reasons which have nothing to do with our staff.
Gloat all you want over the loss but I can guarantee you it will be the last loss to Fordham in a long time. Now you can crawl back to where you came from and stay quite until the next loss.

Just got home & the highlight of my evening was spending time at the half with the great JPM14. We both agreed that this "throw away year" will be tolerable because of the roster SJU will have next year. What else could we say? :)

I was sitting 3rd row behind scorer stable. Mullin started fuming when Neubauer called a time out with a few minutes left and a 20 point lead. After the timeout, Mullin yelled over to him and said "nice timeout..." followed by a few expletives. He also let him have it at the handshake after the game, giving him a quick lecture.
