Another advanced stat. Offensive Rating: Offensive proficiency rating or offensive productive efficiency is a statistic used in basketball to measure either a team's offensive performance or an individual player's efficiency at producing points for the offense.

Joel Soriano is #3 in the country and #1 in the Big East with 151.

I am not a stat nerd at all, but I do find advanced statistics helpful sometimes in conversations like this. It clearly shows what a lot of us have been saying this year: Soriano needs a lot more involvement in the offense, Jenkins' usage is high, and Dingle does have quite the adjustment from his usage at Penn to now.

Jenkins passes well -- I'll give him that -- but his handle is not good and he routinely dribbles himself into situations that forces him to shoot or pass to avoid a turnover. And then there is the discrepancy of the fouls he commits v. the fouls he draws. 1.0 FTA a game is a mind-boggling stat for a slashing guard that dominates the ball as much as he does. Villanova won for two decades by doing the opposite.

The initial post would have the causals believing all Jenkins does is shoot. His assist totals beg to differ. Last game vs BC, 8 ast and zero turnovers. That loss is not totally on him. Dingle and Ledlum missed very make-able shots. Shots they made against Utah.

The best and each team had really good rosters.
We had some more, CCNY, LIU, St. Francis, Seton Hall.
We had a tremendous pool of top players in the Met area
and they stayed home .
You could go to a local school yard and
there would be lots of talent there.
NYC and Basketball ruled.

Defense - schmefense. All he had to do was not play Dunlap for his +- -7? -9? 2 minutes and we would have had a bullish week of Johnny banter on here. This one was on coach.

I will say I see us covering especially after that Boston college game. Good bounce back right the ship calm the posters kind of game. I expect Pitino to have these guys ready willing and very able this game. But that said unless I get myself over to Jersey or Connecticut to place a bet I won’t be putting money on this game.

A classic non sequitur. Because a team occasionally practices it’s zone offense against the second team, it can therefore play effective zone defense in a game situation, especially late in a close game where one missed assignment can cost you the game! 😎😎😎 Brilliant! Can’t believe a HOF coach did not think of that! Bet he wanted to fire his staff the next am because they did not whisper zone defense in his ear! 😎😎

Damn, I wish we did this last Sunday, but I understand Barclays does not meet elitist standards. 😀

Seriously, Mike. Awesome idea and will definitely make Paul’s day. Kudos to all that make it.

I didn't say it did against Michigan and Dayton, though his not being ready for this stage was on display. It was readily apparent to anyone that went to Brooklyn that it did.
