Fordham game

yeah i don't know. we didn't have any scholarships to offer but i would still take jordan. politically we should have taken severe to please the nyc coaches.
 
Even at the Garden I doubt they will cover. I don't think they have covered yet this season. I say the under we win by 7-10, although I would prefer 20+ the game before we juice the cuse

I hope you are right, but how can you be confident laying double digits to anyone with this team?

Double digits have my doubts we will tell after the 1st 5 mins if we are asleep as in every game early it will be a nail biter
 
We only had 1 scholi . How many programs.would have taken Severe over Jorden? We also had Harrison and Greene and we needed another pg.
 
Lets not get all excited here. Severe is playing well but that's against A10 teams. You can easily say that we missed out on any mid-major player that is scoring over 20+ points against less challenging competition. I'll take Jordan over severe and the whole fordham team every day of the week.

This article is made to cause controversy among the programs and create a rivalry that doesn't exist to hype up the game tomorrow.
 
Love hearing stuff like this. I hope this attitude carries over to next week vs. Cuse as well.

Lavin had offered Jordan before he redshirted Gift who was the only scholarship senior. So if he redshirted Gift, he expected another player to leave or was going to pull a scholie. Amir announced plans to transfer early April, before Jon Severe had signed with Fordham. Lavin could have pulled a ship but the bottom line is the redshirting of Gift may have cost us the opportunity to offer Severe.
 
Fordham gets sky high for us and usually plays well they supposedly get good guard play and can hit some threes which means against us they will probably hit a lot of threes. I am expecting a tough game and will be happy with a win of any kind.

Agreed, Fordham will be up for this game and is probably feeling good after beating Manhattan @ Manhattan last week (bounceback after a bad loss at home to Sacred Heart).

Frazier, Severe, and Mandel Thomas are a formidable backcourt. Severe in particular is lights out from 3 and has made 4 or more in all but one game. Given the issues we've had defending the perimeter for the better part of 14 months, this is where the focus needs to be.

On the flip side Fordham is weak inside. They had 4 bigs to start the year but lost one to eligibility and another took a leave of absence. The two remaining, Rhoomes and Leonard, have not been particularly good this year after pretty good freshman campaigns from both (particularly Leonard). They are prone to foul trouble and as a result Pecora typically only plays one at a time. Bryan Smith, another guard, is the fifth starter.

We need to not let them get off from 3, particularly early, pound the ball inside on the pass and bounce, and press/run. They only really play 7, nobody but the starters plays more than 13 MPG, and Frazier/Severe/Thomas will play 40 or very close to it if the game is within reach. Need to make them work.

Sounds like a pretty good game plan 1512 which probably means we will employ none of it. :)
 
I was never for the red shirting gift. Severe would have been nice to have. He could takeover after DLo left, but how many minutes would he get this year?
