(EXHIBITION) Towson, Sat., Oct. 18, 2p, ESPN+

If Hopkins returns to his Providence form and Zuby returns to ZUBY, the rest of the team just need to play to their Pitino assigned roles and we'll be fine. Sanon is an incredible talent so Ian Jackson will have to become a more heady player or get a haircut to lighten his load upstairs!

Darling 0 FG attempts in 24 minutes. I guess my concern about him not acclimating to his new role was misguided
He might have taken it too much to heart. I thought he passed up some good looks, including one where he was all alone under the basket (his back was to the hoop, though).

To say he struggled with their press late in the game, would be a massive understatement.

Thoughts…

Ayo is more than a depth guy. He guards 1-5 well, he’s never nervous, and he always gives all he has. He would average 15+ in the A-10 and we’d all want him if that team played us.

Mitchell’s defense is nothing short of awesome. Great feet…a nightmare pressing and trapping. See my back and forth with Mase for offense🙂

Thought Darling looked good. He is the only guy we have that even remotely resembles a PG. His head is always up looking for others, he gets after it on defense, does a good job creating space and angles with the ball in his hands. Wasn’t looking for his own offense to a fault today. He’s going to play 20 mins a game. He gets beat but he fights though screens and he makes you work for it. It will wear guys down.

Sanon honestly looks like he’s never played on a team before…like he just dominated 1 on 1 drills for a decade. He’s completely disconnected from his teammates. His shot is insane and he can get it at will. When he spots up, it’s a make. This could be the Batman or at least Robin of this team by January.

Sellers sees EVERYTHING on both sides of the ball. He’s definitely not a PG though. If someone could step up so he could live in that right corner, we would be a much more dangerous team

Hopkins must have fallen 12x today, but he is so skilled. When he gets the ball inside and takes that deep drop-step, he is unstoppable. He recruits so much strength from his lower body down there. Loose ball and rebound machine. He had a kick out from the FT line off the bounce for a wide open three (Sanon?) that was special for a hybrid forward.

Didn’t see much of Jackson. Defensively, he’s noticeably quicker than Sanon on the ball and more aware in help d.

Prey passes the ball extremely well from the post. We will have to lean on those inside-out passes from Prey, Mitchell, Hopkins, and Zuby until the guards get it going. Prey got beat off the bounce multiple times today. That’s not like him.

I agree with almost all of this. Very good points overall
