Embarrassing

Coaches are the highest paid employees in states, let alone universities, all across the country. No one bats an eye.

Keeping last years roster intact was not an option even if Pitino wanted to do so.
 
Look, Pitino is pissed off because despite this teams deficiencies, if they we willing to do the things that need to be done to win that you don’t need talent to do we would have three or four more wins. I’m talking about getting back on defense in the open court and grinding out every defensive possession in the half court etc. These players are just not willing to give that type of effort for whatever reason and it’s killing Pitino. I share in his anger and frustration and agree with him. He’s not wrong in what he’s saying he should just know enough to be more diplomatic in the way he says it.

Listen Rick simply stated what we are all thinking. The truth. But still look at our bench every possession they are all rooting for each other . Not one player suspended. Not one player embarrassing (off the court) our team and university. Rome wasn't built in a day kids

The truth hurts. He is telling the players exactly the way he sees it. I honestly think this is his last ditch effort to get the kids to step up. He is screaming at them to get back on defense in a game. They will not do it. Shows some heart dig a little deeper. Soriano as captain will go down as his biggest mistake. He is setting no example for his teammates. By his apathy on defense.
Pitno said he can live with losing if his players give max effort. They won’t try harder and he is trying to call them out to motivate. Show some pride!
 
College basketball, the sport that I have loved for more than half a century is dead. I have to consider whether or not I want to find another interest. Too much money involved now for me to have blind loyalty to my school. This year provided very little joy after the Pitino hire. I bought in. Fool me once......

He is telling the truth about effort and their athletic abilities. These are hired guns. Who will not run back on defense. He should call them out. They’re not college students they’re basketball mercenaries.
I do not think doing it publicly is helpful but he is being honest.

Pitino’s comments would be distasteful for an nba coach. Came off as egotistical and arrogant. One thing to fault effort and another to criticize their athleticism. What are the kids supposed to do with that? Pitino’s presser was all about Pitino as usual

Yuo, college sports are over. They are pros now. Most making more then the fans.

Your local public school is probably the last pure sport for enjoyment and love for the game there is now.
