Ed Cooley Rip

I initially thought the mistress rumors spread by PC fans last March were sour grapes, but this documentary being taken down makes me think they were true. Goodman may blame it on the one fan comparing Cooley to Hitler, which I thought was ridiculous and only poorly reflected on the fan if anything. I doubt that fan had anything to do with the video's removal and threats, though. This was about the mistress comments.

It's funny because I read rumors that Georgetown wasn't interested in Pitino due to his past controversies, but in year one the Johnnies are far better positioned both on the court and from a PR perspective.
I think Georgetown was not interested in Pitino because Pitino was not interested in Georgetown. Pitino did not want to leave the area.

Always got that impression but never saw confirmation outside of the rumors (either way). Just remembered the guy who started the rumors that Georgetown wasn't interested... was Goodman!

Really coming full circle now, he possibly lied to prop up the job/salary for his guy Cooley. Someone should ask how he looks in orange...

I think we should agree as a forum to completely ignore what Goodman has to say about anything. Like many in that thankfully rapidly dying industry, all of his "takes" are based on who he's friends with.

Also not accusing him of it but that Zach article before the Prov/GTown game about why Providence fans should focus on the success Cooley brought seemed so weird/inorganic at the time and wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that article was written as a favor to somebody in Cooley's camp.

I agree but I would like to hear his explanation or justification for how he acted on this particular issue. If anyone listens to his pod and wants to summarize what he says, I would appreciate it so I don't have to listen to him myself :)

Goodman called into the mark titus podcast, it’s in today’s episode. They didn’t play the call, but essentially Goodman is saying he did it to protect Fanta. Obviously that doesn’t explain how he acted, but that’s the reason he’s givinf

Fanta always come across well. The guy is adorable. He's basically what would happen if a pug became a person.

If anything bad happens to John Fanta's career because he was nice enough to participate in a fan made documentary, everyone making decisions at Fox Sports should be fired.

Saw it and came away with 2, maybe, 3 thoughts.

1) the juxtaposition of the two press conferences was interesting. Definitely a shot in the face to Friar fans by Cooley to use the exact phrasing he did when describing his feeling towards being at Georgetown.

2) that Olivia girl has some of the worst vocal fry I’ve ever heard in my life. lol, it was annoying the hell out of me.

3) what is Goodman so pissed about and, someone said it already, but it was basically the John Fanta story (plus a lot of usage of YouTube). He doesn’t come off as mean or anything and he’s seems passionate about it. If Goodman (who I’m like you guys, can’t really stand him) is “sticking up” for Fanta…uh, Fanta doesn’t need any sticking up for.

All-in-all, good doc by a supposed amateur.

Guessing Fanta got a stern talking to from Val and company for being in that doc given how much the league has wanted to tamper down the coverage of the whole Cooley/Providence thing for some reason. Perhaps that's what sent Goodman and Dauster into that frenzy. Trust me, there's nobody I'd want to defend less than Goodman but there's had to have been way more behind the scenes that we're not privy to yet.

I’m sure copyright infringement and misrepresentation is involved but the way Goodman spoke to those people is still not acceptable.
