Dwayne Morgan Visiting SJU

Sorry I haven't read through everything. Why would he available to play now without having to sit?

he could play after he finishes his degree in December. So just in time for the meat of this season to add some size, rebounding. Providence and Xavier early will be tough for us.

Playing pickup ball in the UNLV gym with the general student body isn't conducive to jumping right into Big East play.

He played 2 years for UNLV. Can still work out and shoot baskets. He would be more conducive for BE play than a freshman. Hope we get him. Will be very valuable for depth. Furthermore will be a sr. next year and helpfull then. Can't count on Moses coming. As I mentioned before, highly regarded out of HS and UNLV fans blame the coach for his underperformance.

I get your point,

I may be way off, but I just don't see him finishing up finals at UNLV, moving across the US and getting floor time the following week for start of Big East play until he has time to get aligned w/ staff, style of play etc.

To me, end of Jan would be more realistic.

Give me 5 minutes a game in Dec for depth and more time in Jan and I have no complaints. He is a piece that we really need. Regrettably Matt struck out w the grad transfer big, this is a chance for him to redeem himself regarding a serviceable big for this year.

Happy or Paultz , do we know what our chances are with Morgan, when he's coming for a visit etc. Would really like to have this kid for this year.

He is set to visit on the 29th of this month and I would like to think our chances are good based off of his relationship with Tariq and the fact that we got a visit. Crossing my fingers because we can really use an extra body this year. :)

Thanks Happy, appreciate the update!

yup and he's gotta love the fact that his buddy Tariq was all but ignored at TN and is really developing and earning his minutes. Another reason I can't wait for the season to start. Really looking forward to what a year of dev has done for Simon and Clark.

It looks like Coach Abdelmassih is not following him on twitter.

And this was written on September 5:

Jon Rothstein‏@JonRothstein:

UNLV grad transfer Dwayne Morgan is considering Washington State, Boston College, UIC, and others, per a source. Eligible in December.

Once Matt stops following a recruit on twitter we know what that means

No biggie. He is only exactly what we need, when we need it, where we need it.
Kind of like a Jessica Alba threesome. Too good to even remotely dream about

Visit Still possible from what I heard but who knows now with the Matt maloik :)

Staff ambivalence on this one apparently. Tough to pass on a rebounder in my opinion, but these guys make big $$ to decide these things.

So does this means the staff thinks they have enough without him? Or is he really not that good?

What a revolting development this is. Always a player short.

There is no development . Visit is still tentatively on .

Not being a twitter person(twit?), if it has been confirmed that Matt stopped following him that would seem to me to qualify as a development. I can't remember a time when Matt has ever stopped following a kid and the kid then commited to us.

You might very well be right but I was told that the visit was " tentatively "still on last night . Lots of moving parts with this one and Paultz is right on with the ambivalence comment. Kid has not graduated yet.
