Dunn is graduating and will not return next year.

Dunn has given the team some great games over his 2 years , including down the stretch in several . But , he's also turned in some poor games , a few that cost some games . All up , he's been a positive Team player and leader .  I don't know if he and Ponds were close in HS but , maybe Shamorie hooks him up overseas where he is playing ?   If we could get a 5 th year player or transfer who can be a SG and 3 point shooter , that would be a plus . Can McGriff be the guy to back up Posh , bring the ball upcourt and take some of the every play pressure off Alexander? Dunn did that this year .  The thing with McGriff is going to be can he score enough to keep defenses honest . If they just ignore him and double elsewhere , it costs us . We are already a team that needs points from all 8-9 players . We have usually loss when Chsmp doesn't get his 20 and Posh his 15 .  Williams can be that 3 rd option but , his heath and injury history always loom large .  Still like a pure shooter for next year .

Agree with Beast.  Just need a combo guard who can pull double duty.  Keep McGriff around as another pure  Pg-type.
We don't know yet, in this new era of easy transferring, if coaches will keep guys around that they recruited, like CMA may do with McGriff.  We have not seen enough in limited playing time this season to know if McGriff can give the kind of quality minutes needed going forward.  There is certainly something CMA saw in McGriff to recruit him and there is no reason for us to think he may think McGriff no longer fits in with the program.  That said, if McGriff is seeking a different type of basketball experience in college, he may look for a new program.

Not only will he graduate but he is a very good student in the business program and last heard he was studying accounting. Not so sure he is running around the world to play ball. Having a good degree from the Tobin School could be a nice spring board for him to start his professional career outside of basketball.
Just a great kid who left it all on the court every game, worked hard in the classroom and was a true leader. Sad to see him go and wishing him all the very best. I have no doubt he will continue to make us proud in the future.

Not bad options at all,  either overseas ball or big 4 accounting. Come from bed study that's a huge come up.

Absolutely nothing, but nice try. Not about to get my man Dunn's thread locked too. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

That's great info. Players like Tarik and a host of others  have done very well in the biz world. Good for Rasheem

Thanks for making St John's your home for the past two years, Rasheem. You were an outstanding representative of our school on and off the court. Best of luck in all of your future endeavors.

RMN could also see him getting in to coaching down the road. Seems to have the right temperament for it,  and what  a great mentor he would be.

I still don't think I've seen a faster SJU player end to end.
he exceeded my expectations and selfishly I wish he would stick around one more year.

I still don't see Pinzon as a Guard.  He's a true wing.  He's not a guy that is going to play double duty at that spot and he's like 6'6".
He plays point when he represents Puerto Rico, and he plays it well  He's not Posh at PG, but he's better than Dunn.   He's not a true wing, he's a combo guard who can play wing.
Exactly & JPM114 voiced that opinion to me numerous times re Pinzon's versatility, passing ability. He has seen him play lot and also sees him helping at PG occasionally. That's good enough for me.

Yep.....thought of coaching as well.  If not with our program, I could see CMA making some calls to get him an opportunity.

Could also see him starting at the high school level here in NYC. What a great role model he would be for high school kids.

If JPM has seen Pinzon play a lot and likes what he sees, I'm in heaven!!
Can't wait to see Pinzon wear the red and white next season

I appreciate Dunn's contributions to the program.
Thanks for not holding us hostage by not keeping your intentions to yourself.  It allows CMA and staff to plan for next season.  I regret that he won't have the opportunity to play on a good team in a packed MSG.

Good luck.  If you change your mind, welcome back.

David Cain fastest I have seen at St. John's.  Just to echo what others have said R. Dunn has been a real credit to the university in every way.

I don't know about being faster than Cain but let's just hope he treats his brother better than Cain did.

JPMs endorsement is really all we need and truth be told with Posh returning all we need is someone who can play the point at 10 minutes a game. With Posh , Williams, Wusu , Pinzon and perhaps McGriff we are in very good position at the 1 and 2 going forward.
Just to add very classy of Monte to let the staff know he won't return 5-6 weeks prior to the next signing date gives them ample time to pick up a player if they see the need to. As has been previously said puts the staff in a better position to balance the recruiting classes going forward.
