The 2-3, or most zones for that matter, also can make it tough to run. Teams use the whole shot clock against you on possesion after possesion. So if you're a team that wants the score to be in the 80s+, it's hard to do that if the opponent is taking 35 seconds every possesion.
Also, as others have pointed out, it makes rebounding more of a challenge.
That said I love the 2-3. There are only a handful of teams in the whole country that I think will consistently beat you from behind the arc (duke and creighton being 2).

Was it just me or did Boeheim's post game quotes annoy you also.
He exclaimed that it was the greatest game ever in the Carrier Dome and how excited he is looking forward to be playing in this conference.

He is annoying to begin with, but expressing a positive about ACC is fine. What do you expect him to say? He is putting Big East behind him and being politically correct. Perhaps we should put Syracuse & ACC in our rear view mirror and concentrate on becoming a force in our own conference.
Was at the game last night. Cant believe I was rooting for duke, would have liked both teams to lose but what I really wanted was to see was 35,000 tears walking out. Never seen Duke get the short end of the stick on foul calls like they did yesterday. Crazy atmosphere, and an outstanding game. The whole crowd (from what I saw) stood the whole game.

the non call on the attempted dunk by Duke late in the game was a blatant example. OF the major sports, I think basketball refereeing is the most questionable in terms of accuracy.
Although following Syracuse's close win over PItt a couple of weeks ago, Boeheim was quoted as saying, "Forget ACC. This was a Big East game." That said, I agree with Paultzman, let's put Syracuse in our rear view mirror ... something that will be a lot easier to do once Boeheim retires (the sooner, the better).

As long as they are on our schedule annually, just like they were in our league, and ranked ahead of us, and pack the Garden with their fans while our fans stay home not wanting to see us lose, if you look in your rear view mirror, you won't see them because they are in front of us.
The mere fact that there are over 50 posts about an ACC game on Redmen.com is evidence enough of that.
That being said, Boeheim speaking to a national audience, could have been a little more gracious towards the great Big East battles his teams have played in that building over the last 20 years. I'm pretty sure that it was in the moment, because he is usually more gracious off the court than on.

I'm guessing not. Before the season, the number one game that our posters indicated as the game they circled on their schedule was Syracuse. Then as the game approached, some of our "fans" sold their tickets on Stubhub, and even more stayed home.
If you must know, I posted that I would be rooting for Syracuse. They have a great program, and draw a ton of NYC students.
If you don't think they are worth discussing, ignore this thread.
Enjoy playing and competing with Syracuse, respect Jim B for what he has accomplished and derive little interest in nonsense about his post game comments after a tough win over Duke. I am sure he respects and values his time in the Big East. Btw, am a season ticket holder to dispel your notion of my non attendance for Cuse games.
They did have a big win @ Pitt earlier in the week, but agree nonetheless. Hopefully the demon deacons takes them tonight
