If we don't board then 15 turnovers a must in order to get out on the break. The 2011 team had some size. Does anyone here think we can win playing a half court game. Driving their guards to distraction a must. Duke is going to have possessions where they get 3 cracks at the basket. It's rough not having size, but the kids can't crack.

There are around 7 high school all Americans on the Duke team to our nada. On paper they have all the talent needed to win by a baker's dozen mostly because Jahlil Okafor is a pure NBA talent but also because they have quicker and better shooting guards who, if fouled, are virtually automatic at the line. In any other given year without Okafor we would beat this Duke team nonetheless but with only the foul prone Obekpa on the font line and no Thomas what could be a win will likely be a narrow loss in my opinion. Our chances lie with the younger Duke players making some mistakes and our first five having a perfect game. If we play like we did at Syracuse an upset is possible unless of course coach K brings his wife and daughter and sits them courtside in which case their matronly ugliness will distract our players in horror and we lose total concentration.

This is a game in which Rysheed and Chris can gauge their readiness for the NBA. With luck they play their usual game and they are convinced they need to return next year.
BTW, one of our options is to deflate the balls to throw the Duke shooters off. I hear we have been practicing with deflated balls anyway. Of course there are those with deflated balls that sold their tickets and of course some of our creative St. John's students bought up all the school's allotment of tickets only to scalp them 15 minutes later. Now that takes a lot of balls!

We can do it fellas maybe we come out and play the best game of the year, I think we match up well. Future #1 pick of the knicks goes up against the greatest shot blocker in the world. If chris can limit his low IQ reach in fouls and doesn't go for every block when Okafor pump fakes and is able to stay in the game without foul trouble it can change the whole outcome. Dom matches up well with jefferson, so does jordan against winslow . Jones is gonna go up against either the IV or harrison, Senior vs freshmen, which I think we will have an advantage there. Cook vs harrison/IV.
Duke loves shooting 3's, yes i know we are terrible at guarding the 3, but maybe they come in cold as ice from there. Duke isn't that deep coach K never goes more than 8 deep anyway. So maybe a lot has to happen for us to win but we need as much postive energy flowing threw the TV and at the garden from Johnnie fans all across America. It's time for these seniors to get there signature win of there careers and this is it! I will be there at the game 8 rows behind the backboard as I have been for every garden game this year with St johns gear on from head to toe. I know some one of you in here don't think we can win, you guys don't want to get your hopes up , but lets switch that mentalitly even though it's hard to. Positive vibrations, Lets do it! WE WILL DO IT!! Love you St. Johns and all of you on this site because you guys are as pyscho as I am about this team!

I'm real intense every game, I try to be calm but it never works.
Harrison could bitch and yell all night and day about wanting to play, but he isn't the coach and Lavin will make that decision.
They'll probably evaluate his leg before the game to make sure it can't get any worse.
When all is said and done, I gotta think that he'll be a go.

I've watched Duke on few times this year and one thing I noticed is that they are a thin team. I don't mean depth wise I mean physically they are a thin team. They will not be pushing us around underneath etc. Their game is speed, quickness and execution. We can match up well with that type of team. A team like Texas or Kentucky with a number big strong guys, no, but that's not Duke. I wouldn't count us out of this game. Like always though, and even more important in this game than any other, CO and Dom must stay out of foul trouble and Amar has to give us something.
