I'm usually wiling to give the athlete the benefit of the doubt in situations like these, but the locking of the bathroom door and multiple guys involved does not sit well with me. Even if it was consensual, it was shady as hell and clearly intimidating.

Absolutely. Anyone with an ounce of moral fiber is not in that bathroom. I am sorry to hear we are interested in this player.

St. John's wasn't in Dominic Artis final three out of Findlay Prep, but were involved. They hope to get him this time around. #sjubb
 
after reading the police report.....I don't know why everyone is so against this....the fact that this girl "couldn't remember" certain details about the next morning is a clear red flag to me about the girl...not artis.....of course if he was involved in a gang rape type thing that is terrible but I don't see it from the report........she doesn't seem the most credible to me......and I hope it didn't happen....

It was bad enough that Oregon dismissed all 3 from the university and no other high major schools other than SJU and Cal are recruiting him. It also says in the report that he was strong-holding the victim and basically preventing her from leaving the room during the alleged assault.

Shocked Cal would get involved, even if Artis is from the area. There will be protests there.
 
Lets see Kobe was accused, Big Ben from the steelers, Jimmy from syracuse came to the defense of a sexual predator on his staff, Duke lax players lives were put through the ringer, Jameis at FSU, everybody wanted Lance to come here despite his sexual assault allegations while at lincoln. I am by no means happy with having to resort to bringing in a kid with baggage and allegations of that nature but please with this holier then thou attitude and turning this into a reason to bash Lavin, cause if you look deep enough into many of these kids you will find a reason or things in they're past not to bring them in. And when he lands at Providence or Seton Hall many of these posters will be bashing Lavin.

I'll piggyback you by saying, this could be a gangbang gone awry (we've heard that somewhere before). In no way, I condone such behavior, but that could be the scenario.

By the way, you can also add Kaepernick to that list.

Winston of FSU has had multiple problems with the law and both he and the team shook of his rape allegation like it was nothing. FSU won a national championship and landed a ridiculous recruiting class.

I'm not endorsing the transfer, I just don't like to label kids for life because of one person's story. The girl was clearly not a prude herself.

Lavin has his own reasons for doing this. Maybe he thinks he can help save a kid. I think passing might be smarter given the bad press that may ensue, but I'm not going to rip Lavin a new one.
 
From the interviews, everyone agrees that Artis has intercourse with a girl (who said she was drunk) while she is simultaneuosly sucking off two of his friends.

Some may not want to label him for life, but for now I'll gladly call him a piece of shit who has no business being rewarded with a scholarship and uniform.
 
Keep living in what ever world your in, cause your blind if you think this is the first college athlete to be involved in sexual escapdes that you don't agree with.
