Docuseries Pitino: Red Storm Rising to Premiere February 11, Exclusively on VICE

Appreciate everyone who reached out about episode 1 of the docu-series. The Eye on the Storm Podcast has been a true labor of love for the last three seasons, so being a part of such a cool project and them using me and episodes throughout was a pinch me moment.

Thank you everyone here who has listened and continues to do so, wouldn’t be possible without people caring and supporting and listening.
Hope you get a big listening boost after!

The executive producer is a Villanova graduate.
I won’t hold that against him since that first episode was great.

If there was ever a sports season to create a fairytale happy ending, this would be it.

If by the grace of the college basketball gods allow SJU to win it all, it would go down in NY sports lore with the Giants beating the undefeated Patriots in the SuperBowl and the 1969 Mets.

This team honors all the NYC playgrounds with its relentless effort (not to mention, the Riley Knick teams would be proud). Meanwhile the City has noticed and embraced them in return.

Amazing job Dave.... great look inside SJU basketball with CP. Can't wait for episode 2!

Just watched on my schedule (the hell with work for 45 minutes). I go to bed before 10:00 PM

Pitino totally won me over.

He's a winner, he's making us a winner.

He's going to bring this Program back (and beyond) to when I became a fan circa early to mid 1970's.-80's, late 90's.

This is so rewarding after all those frustrating years.

You me and Pitino will never get over it. Watching that over and over never makes it better
Add me to the list. I was so pissed, I did not watch the next two games and stayed away from this Site for a few days.

I’ve gotten better, but still not over it.

I went to a concert last night and Dvrd the episode (I have it set to record the entire series). I watched it when ai got home. Well worth it.

Oh Rick. We've put our arms around you. Please put your arms around us!
It was interesting to see Rick bluntly say he has no special feelings about St. John’s yet and it’s just a job

I do remember after the fans in Bahamas chanted zubys name to uplift him before the Virginia game, Rick said that he “learned why he loved St. John’s” that night

So I’m excited for the next episode I hope they show that whole thing. Was an awesome moment

Hopefully, the use of the word "Yet", is important.

I am a lot older than you, Jack, and throughout his career, and with his many stops, one in NYC and one in New Rochele, I don't ever remember him every saying anything fond about St. John's or our history, our coaches (early ones), NYC BB forbearer, etc., but other guys like Bobby Knight and Coach K (Boeheim, somewhat), always had warm spot towards us, not him or Calipari or Cahoun.

I also have a feeling Rick has a keen awareness of his own character arc.

just finished watching... and wow the Baylor segment still stings...

-Would have loved to have seen what Rick said when he told the cameras to get out following the loss
-Best line - "Don't ask stupid questions Zach"

Favorite Pitino quote from the doc:

"I don't try to prove anything anymore. I really don't. I've got to get St. John's to the promised land because St. John's deserves it, not because I have a chip on my shoulder."
