The ncaa filed its opposition to the athletes request. Basically making their arguments for why this injunction shouldn’t be granted. Their main argument is that the players claim is really a complaint about the Ivy League and. It the ncaa. They also say the legal claims they’re asserting are not supported by the evidence or relief they’re seeking.

Yeah but if it was UNC, Duke, UK, KU, or another big time P5 basketball school, it would be granted.

They had to wait for ncaa to deny waiver request. Obvijously. Suit was filed promptly after denial.

The NCAA position is that if they wanted the extra year they should have transferred out of Ivy League. Give up their Harvard degree. Now the ncaa is forcing transfers instead of limiting them. Buy hey, what’s logic and common sense have to do with it.

Got it....makes total sense...that's exactly what my lawyer friend...retired Sup Ct Judge...just told me. He roots for Rutgers and St. John's. Says Cliff is a great kid.

Posted the same message multiple times, we get the point that he wants them to move on but I disagree. I’d be happy to have one or both back, they started last year and would be very valuable w a year playing ricks system.

So Judge will accept players reply papers on 5/14. No hearing. No oral argument. Court will decide case on papers submitted. Still expect a quick decision. Week of 5/14.

It’s Queens County Supreme Court. Nothing is done quick there. I just got a ruling on an MTD that was fully submitted last June.

Are you surprised , I am not.
I for one would be delighted for one or both to return. Once they became acclamâted to BE level of play they both played well.
In addition they are both excellent kids and would provide strong senior leadership.

Agreed it is usually a wild card. But this is a news worthy case, true irreparable harm, and simple legal issue. Think we get a quick decision.

Judge is aware of the key May 29th date for withdrawal from NBA draft which will affect roster decisions and is trying to make a decision with enough time before that date in fairness to all parties.
